Going out starts with small steps…taking the trash out, walking the driveway at night or maybe a short drive. But when you finally really go out in public it is both exciting and scary! You feel like everyone is watching you and all your fears bubble up. After that first time the fears start to go away and your confidence starts to build. You realize everyone is too busy in their own lives to notice anything.
My first real outing was going to the Post Office one late evening thinking no one would be there. To my surprise there were plenty of people there so I sat in my car frozen. But finally said to myself I have as much right as they do so I got out and walked in. After that I started going shopping, movies and places to eat. I have driven ling distances dressed and use the women’s toilets with no issues. Even if I’m not completely dressed my clothing is feminine and I enjoy wearing them. So go out and feel free to live your life.
