Last month I was out with a friend enjoying one of our favorite spots to have coffee. While I was waiting for my drink there was a fellow adding cream to his, he leaned over and said to me: “If you’re going to ‘do it’ you need to be good, and you are very good!” I realized that he had ‘clocked’ me, but I blushed anyway, smiled and said thank you. He smiled, nodded and went out with his drink.
Just yesterday, getting off a bus to transfer to another, I had a guy look at me and say: “Hello”, with that tone of voice that you recognize as not wanting to hear…
…so, two compliments, one nice even though I was ‘clocked’, and the other, well, we will leave that one alone.
