I’m not sure I’d consider this drawing attention to myself, as others have said, I’m just being me.  But when I go out for a walk through my neighborhood, I’m always wearing a skirt or a dress.  Even though it is a bit unusual, it has become my modus operandi.  Yes, even in winter.  I wear a longer skirt and an ankle length coat. Oh, and I’ve made a friend on my walks from passing quite a number of times.

But on occasions, I might dress more to stand out.  The last two years on Halloween I went out in a poodle skirt (with the required petticoats), white sweater top, white shoes with lacy ankle socks.  On July 4 I went out with a blue tank top, short red skirt, and white belt, and 3 tutu-sized petticoats, one red, one white, and one blue.  Both of these outfits can be seen in my private photo gallery.

I learned from my friend who used to throw themed parties that it’s OK to have fun, so I’m not afraid to dress in fun ways when appropriate.  One time she had a fairy party.  I dressed in my pink, very short maids dress with a pink tutu petticoat.  I made “wings” from two wire hangers, wide glittery translucent ribbon, and elastic to put it on.  I also had a glow stick with a star top which looked like a magic wand. When I got to her home, I had to park a half block away.  I was wearing the costume (I put the wings on after I parked) and was going to go out when I saw a man walking outside.  I hesitated for a bit, but then just decided to leave the car.  I never turned around to see if he looked at me (perhaps hearing the car door shut), I just walked into her home dressed as a fairy.

Because it has only been a couple of times, I can’t really vote sometimes.  I’m just voting for other.
