I’ve always understood the term transgender to be an identity that is more about an inward view of yourself rather than outward appearances, and is more or less permanent..  In other words, someone who is transgender views themselves as a gender that is different from their biological sex, and that view of themselves is always there, regardless of how they physically present themselves…

For me, I do experience that “view” of myself from time to time, but it’s temporary.. it comes and goes.  For that reason alone, I personally don’t identify as transgender.

This is just how I understand the terminology, but I could be totally off base.  If I’m interpreting this wrong, please let me know.
