That is a very difficult situation to be in Carmen.  Being five foot five and 125 pounds keeps me always on a heightened sense of alert, especially when I’m out alone.  Most of the time I will just leave a situation that weirds me.   Otherwise, for me, that is about the point that I reach into my bag and start putting my finger on the pepper spray.  Also if I’m torqued I can be quite capable in a fight  but I’d prefer not to go rolling on the mud in a  roadhouse brawl nor do I want to find out who’s carrying a niner.  I will drop my feet out of my heels (yup, no straps) and run in an instant. I also carry a large bag and often keep my heels in there until just before I need to put them on.  Otherwise I’m usually around walking in my running shoes and sometimes my well strapped sandals (not so pretty but utilitarian).   I’m glad things turned out ok for you but sorry that it happened.  Thanks for the advice and warning.  Marg
