Hi Jen, and welcome. You are expressing something that is very common to those of us who wish to explore our feminine nature and that is finding the best place to go out and about without being “outed”. Obviously this is much harder in a small town or within a neighborhood which is why many girls I know go-to neighboring towns or bigger cities. Whatever you do don’t allow the fear of going out in public to dissuade you from doing do. I think you will find once you go out it will be an enjoyable experience. I know it has been for me.
