For drab jeans, I used to wear 501s only.  But they do run a little on the tight side, so I’m leaning towards the 505 which is a much more relaxed fit.  I love the button fly, but the top 2 buttons now give me a challenge.

As for women’s jeans, I bought a few pairs of gloria vanderbilt, they are stretchy and quite comfy.
