My GGF pointed out that “women have a visitor, I should follow her cycle so I know what it’s like to wear pads for a purpose”  so we made a deal, I wore the same pad she wore daily. Mostly liners obviously thru the month but when she started I would match the pad she wore daily. To add reality to it each time I tinkled I would add 1 tsp of water to it( I bought an oral dispenser,syringe, and drew water from a tap before entering a stall).  It gave me quite the insight to what it means to be moist, although not a period it was very uncomfortable by noon which is when I would change it for a fresh one.
