Before I started wearing girl things to work, a young woman I was friends with took another job with the agency and moved away. Ten years later she was promoted back to our unit. I was dressed male the first day and had a nice ‘catching up’ chat with her. Next day I was walking from my car in a pleated skirt, white blouse that showed my bra straps, strappy sandals and painted nails, full makeup including ribbons in my long hair. She stepped out of her car and gave me a puzzled look, I replied: “You asked me yeserday what was new!” I gave a twirl fanning my skirt and we both laughed. True friends are precious!
