And you did the exact right thing by leaving out some of the details. There’s no need to overload anyone with all the minutia about your dressing life upon first telling them, they have enough to process with just the basic facts.

I may tell others … I may not. As with Mum, my inner voice will tell me if and when the time is right.

At the moment I’m just content to have made that huge, gut-wrenching first step.
