I spent almost 20 years wearing only 5″ and 6″ stiletto heels. My lowest heel was 4″ just for all-day shopping trips.
I was very proud of the act that I could wear heels that many genetic women only wished they could wear.
That was up to the point that I was out at a restaurant with a girlfriend. Before we left I got up to go to the washroom and just before opening the door, I got an excruciating pain in my back that brought me to my knees. I got up went to the restroom and took my heels off. I ended up walking back to the table in my stocking feet. I tried to put my heels back on to leave the restaurant and I couldn’t do it.
Unbeknown to me at the time was that would be the last time I was to wear 6″ heels. What I found out was over the years those heels aided in crushing the soft tissue between the disks due to the heels misaligning the spine.
To this day all I can wear is 1″ heels or flats. I have tried 3″ & 4″ heels but just no way I can’t even leave my apartment wearing them. As sexy as they look they silently tear the hell out of your back.
While I thank the fact that I won three “Best Legs” contests in Ottawa, Toronto and Orlando wearing them I am regretfully selling all my stiletto heels with a heavy heart.
So while you may be tickled silly about wearing 6 & 7-inch heels just beware of the silent killer doing non-recoverable damage to your back.
