I’m an Iron Maiden gal. Who else nowadays can do a 12+ minute song and keep you engaged? They can do no wrong!
Hugs, Barb 🙂

It’s not my kind of music for this old girl.
I’d be into ABBA, The Seekers, The Carpenters, Charley Pride, music from up to about the 1980’s. Having said there would still be some music that was published that I would like.
I also love Neil Diamond, Elaine Paige, Barbara Dickson, Whitney Houston not forgetting some Classical and folk

I know I have picked up one or two others here and there. The two absolutely new ones to my pile, both by Nightwish…. Playtime/Storytime, and Ghost Love Score.

Sorry, can’t resist 😉
The only music I’ve bought this year was in a charity shop in the Lake District. 10 classical CDs for a pound – perhaps they are going out of style?
But a few of my favourite youtube oldie plays this year in no particular order have been:
Fascinating Aida (try “prisoner of gender”)
Dead and Co (thanks to Pru)
Indian Ragas
Buena Vista Social Club / Cuban songs – “Chan chan”!
Philip Glass (esp. Koyaanisqatsi)
Patti Smith
Fairport Convention
Pink Floyd Echoes, the surfing video– and getting really up to date, [blush]
Pink

and if you haven’t heard it yet, there’s an instrumental version by Rodrigo y Gabriela that is so worth it.

LadyRegistered On: November 8, 2021Topics: 0Replies: 23Has thanked: 195 timesBeen thanked: 124 timesThe only new album I bought this year was “Voyage” by ABBA. First time I’ve bought a new release on vinyl since… well… I can’t remember when. Everything else I’ve purchased recently has been a reissue of some sort. I am a sucker for fancy 180-gram deluxe reissues of records I already own.
So I guess by default “Voyage” is my pick for album of the year. Congrats to ABBA. I do like most of the tracks on it though.
