      Hello all.
Just need t share this quick story about my almost day out. I am a stay at home gurl with limited time to dress.  My wife knows, has seen Billie dressed but doesn’t approve so I’ve kept quiet about my desires for the most part. My wife is away this week ( which I’ve known about for a while) so my thought was that I could finally get out fully dressed. So yesterday was the day!  I packed my bag,( which took 2hours and was exhausting) made a reservation at a casino hotel 50 miles away and headed south. Long story short I chicken out half way there. I have so much fear of being clocked.  As I sit here this morning in my dress I am asking for your thoughts and advice . I have a few days left alone. What’s a gurl to do?  Thanks for being here CDH.
      Hugs… Billie

Hi Billie 🌸 I did a similar thing my first time out..got dressed, got in the truck, drove off to just go to a drive through restaurant 🧚🏼.. drive by the restaurant …… and didn’t stop 😆… I kept going and drove back to my starting point. 🦋🎀 well that was it.. until the next try..

the next time out I thought to myself, it’s now or never… and just did it 🌻🍭 a chic fil a where they stand outside and take your order right there at your car, face to face 🧚‍♀️🌹 … Now I do this often and I’m not nervous about it anymore.. and looking forward to a bigger outing with cd friends at a mall or walking around town and dinner.. 🌺🌻🧚🏼
once you get that first step behind you, it’s gets a little easier each time..but Ive still got to learn not worry so much about what people think and just be myself..

      you can do it!! 💜🎀🌸

I remember the first time I went out en femme and how nervous I was. However, with each time I went out I gained more and more self confidence with my dressing. That was many years ago and my self confidence still builds today each time I go out.
Personally for me I believe that self confidence is key and the more confidence you have the more you will want to go out. Please make sure that when you go out it is to a safe environment and that you feel comfortable there.

      Hi Billyj,

You made it out to the car and onto the highway.  That is a great start!  With your bag packed you likely were in drab so next time put on a pretty top, leggings, flats and your underthings.  Drive to your drive through restaurant and order a soda or cup of coffee.  Just going out will build your confidence.  I find most people are absorbed with their own affairs so won’t give you a first look.  With mask in place you’ll be unrecognizable but out as Billyj.

      Have fun!

I know it’s hard. My first real time out face to face with someone else was after reading so many of the stories here at CDH I made an appt. at Ulta to have my then shoulder length hair colored professionally ( is it vane to want to cover up the gray). when I made the appt. I told them I was a crossdresser and then I decided I was going to go en fem. Just before going into the store I had a huge knot in my belly and it hurt bad for a minute. I decided I had committed to the appt. and just went in and did it. Now I am soooooo glad I did Everyone was soooo nice to me and I am planning to do it again this year.

      Hi Billie,

You are far from alone with this; as a girl who has always had a shortage of self-confidence, my first attempt an anything new has always been a struggle, with many false starts. My first successful outing Dressed was a drive in my car; didn’t get out or talk to anyone…but I did go out. Next was a visit to Ulta (safe territory) for my first makeover, immediately followed by a VERY short visit to the mall. Again, no interaction, just in and out. Soon, I was buying clothes as Bettylou and talking to the SAs. Today, I’m doing nearly everything as Bettylou – and living the good life. You need to try again; start small, and work your way up. You WILL be successful.

      Hugs,
      Bettylou

      Billie-

Try to get out soon, before people stop wearing masks.  I started off nervous as all get-out, but coped by wearing a mask and some feminine glasses (computer blue-blocking type), and clothing that blended in.  I felt like even if I was clocked as CD, at least I wouldn’t be clocked as the male me.  I also knew I would never see these people again, so why should I care what they think?

You have to get that first time out of the way.  There is no bigger thrill in the world as the first time you go out and pull it off.  Interact with some businesses, and the first time you get called “ma’am”, you are going to love it!!
Be careful though… dressing in public is addictive!!!  🥰🥰👍🤓💐

There was so many times when I was all dressed up, ready to go out, fear kicked in and I chickened out. No matter how many times I’ve gone out, that has never gone away. Chickening out has always been a part of my CD adventures.
