Am I bold enough?

Well Ladies, I have been out quite a bit over the last year and half and here in our region things are opening up more. Along with that I’m now able to go out more again en femme, and I will have a 5 or 6 hour opportunity this coming Tues.

A few here might know I’m an amateur musician, though I have played several other instruments over my life, but it has been back to acoustic piano, where I started about 60 yrs ago, I play well but still take lessons a bit to continue to improve my skills.

The local music school has just reopened for face to face lessons, and they contacted me to ask if I want to have my old time slot back with my previous teacher on Tuesday afternoon.

You girls must guess what I’m thinking, how about showing up as Amy for my lesson. My teacher knows, as one day many months ago I had failed to clean the red nail polish off well enough, and she asked what had happened to me! For the vast majority of people the bit of red around my cuticles would not have caused any comment, but keyboards are so focused on the hands. So I simply told her the truth, instead of inventing a story about spilled paint, or something else.

I have this desire to be more bold and open with my femme side, and doing this certainly is an attraction.

But there are about 4 or 5 others at the small studio, though musicians of almost any stripes are an accepting bunch as so many live an alt lifestyle. There is also the chance of meeting someone I wouldn’t expect to in our small town, but that might be an adventure. Though this shouldn’t really be about the excitement of being found out, but rationed approach to more openness.

I know ultimately this will be my own choice, but I was curious on what your take on this might be.

Hi Amy,

For what it’s worth, let me offer my two cents.  Since your piano teacher knows why not continue your lessons dressed the way you wish to be?   Many towns/cities are requiring masks and social distancing.  Wear what you are comfortable with.  Perhaps, casual or comfy attire as you may need to wait in your car until your instructor is ready for you.  Some establishments have limits on the number of inside occupants which sets the wait outside criteria.

Well girls, to answer the question, No, I wasn’t. That’s the short version. When I told my wife what I wanted to do, she  went kind of pale and said Really? So to respect her wishes, I didn’t do anything radical, for Amy, that is today.

I did go to a mall, visited a friend who knows both the male and female me, then went and to a lingerie store and bought a couple of bras that were on sale.

Thanks to all that gave me encouragement. Hopefully another time.
