Never was a problem until I passed the half-century mark. My bathtub is too short, somehow (who knew they came in different lengths?). I have to choose between wait-up or waist-down, so bath oils are a bit less than the best solution. Any recommendations for lotions, etc.?

Eucerin Hand Lotion from CVS is what I use all over after a shower

Hi Cassandra,
I use extra virgin olive oil, myself, with pure lemon oil to make it smell fresh. You’ll hear mixed reviews of this treatment, but for myself, it has worked wonders. My skin is much softer and more supple, as well as nearly blemish free now.
It’s funny, when I first googled it, all the reviews were positive. I just googled it recently, and the opinion had reversed… hmmm… not sure I trust the new negatives. They don’t seem to back it up at all, and a year of personal experience says it works quite well.
Go light on it, as it is oily (obviously) but absorbs nicely.
Best of luck!!

Thanks, Stephanie – another new experience to try.
Olive oil and lemon juice…hmmm. My crazy mind … maybe while I do it I could fantasize about the food scenes in 9 1/2 Weeks?

I should also mention, olive oil is quite excellent for cuts, scapes and burns.
I live in the sticks and heat with wood – yes, I am aware what century we’re in – and burned my hand a few weeks ago. Olive oil helped it heal faster, and the scar is lighter.

Me too, in the woods with the woodstove.
This last time it was a breadpan that got me, not the woodstove.
Having lived in Florida for a few years, my go-to for burns has been aloe gel/juice, also good for the skin in general. When I needed some a couple of weeks ago, I was pleased to find a large leaf in the supermarket.
Wish I had known olive oil would work – I had some at arm’s length. I’ll try it next time.

Aloe is excellent, for sure. I guess olive oil is high in vitamin E and a also has a substance that occurs naturally in our skin.
Thanks for reminding me of aloe 🙂
