I sure would be interested, however a holiday to the states is out of the question for me, so maybe a few events in different countries would work well, lots of people can meet and real connections made.

I would love to, Imagine if we did an event in a different location around the world every year and at lest 80% of the members turn up that would be amazing

Trust me everyone understands financial, health or distance constraints and worries about family/colleagues/friends finding out , etc. No shame in that. And obviously we could never get EVERYONE from the site at one place at on time. But don’t let that stop ou from finding others close by and doing local events while till trying for some larger regional events too. I think Vanessa’s vision was for the site to encourage that type thing. And speaking personally -from attending several conferences as well as visiting friends I’ve made here, I have now met about 40 members from the site face to face!

Yeah no location will ever be perfect for everyone. Just had the thought that if there was a convention, and it was in a place, New Orleans is one of those places that combines cd/tg friendliness with the ability to massively overperform in the fun department….

Well, if there was an event in Canada, it means a border crossing for some, but with the exchange rate the way it is, it can be somewhat cheaper for Americans staying on the North side of the border. So it might help to make things a bit more affordable.

Toronto is a large and varied city, with a large LBTG+ community, and about two hours from Buffalo.

Would love to find an event near Orlando, FL. There are a lot of cruises leaving from the Florida coast so maybe a CDH cruise? Otherwise hard to travel very far on a retirement budget.

I love the idea of TiffTown I’m sure it would be a huge success, i have a few problems though, one i have limited funds because I’m retired and I’m living on my pension, two my other half has no idea about my crossdressing life which I’ve kept hidden from her all our married life, three i live in the UK which is a very long haul to the US or Canada, sometimes i wish i told her years ago about Rozalyne things may be different today but we can’t change the past, anyway girls you never know what will happen in the future, hugs Rozalyne x

      Hi Tiffany,

Its so funny I was just thinking about something like this the the other day. I was thinking awards show, dinners, a ball. Pink things. It would be so amazing to meet everyone. I could wear an emerald gown. In my world though financials would be problem (A). I’d have to save. I’d love if it could be started. Maybe I couldn’t go the first year but could work tword it. I wish we had something. Like you say 30,000+. Even a few of us would being such great joy to whatever lucky town hosts us. Look at the village during pride week.

      Love to all

Sooo Tiff, just thinking after rereading the replies to your interesting poll and given that you are familiar with NOLA, would you be prepared to perhaps do another more specific poll with dates, place, hotels, activities, restaurants, venues, clubs, dancing , bars, etc with rough and ready estimated costs?

Maybe I am off beam with such a suggestion, but sometimes  we girls need more information before assessing a proposal.

I won’t be offended if you tell me to go jump in the lake. But I personally would find such info useful and motivating to attend such a group gathering.

Anyway, thanks for be so active on here and promoting us to think about the possibilities.

      Hugs, Gianna

I have the impression that about half of our ladies are in the UK, with about an equal number here in the US, with a few in more isolated parts of the world. Two separate events is the logical choice, cost-wise…but I doubt Tiff has time to scurry back and forth to set this up. Anyone on the UK side who could do it over there?

      Said maybe.

I know how this sounds, but it really depends on two main factors: 1. Location and 2. Cost

As to location, obviously, it would have to take place somewhere where it’s reasonable we could do this without much threat of violence. I’m not interested in being murdered. But if the location is reasonably CD friendly or at least tolerant if not accepting, then I’d consider it

For cost, again I know how it sounds, but I just can’t go off on a vacay any time I feel like it. That probably puts me in the minority, but it’s a reality that I have to live with. I’d have to be able to work out the financial factors involved. Sorry if this doesn’t seem logical to some.

I answered “Maybe”, but the truth, without the inevitable complications is an emphatic YES!

My biggest complication is how to get away for the time needed, without too many questions being asked by family members. My wife knows, and is very supportive, so that’s not an issue for me, but my kids, none of which know about Amy, would be wondering, and I’m not sure how I could answer convincingly.

The next is the cost, and being in Canada, with the current exchange rate about 35% or so, makes travels to the US, and spending a few days living in a hotel extremely expensive. It hard difficult to keep a lid on costs on trips like this.

However, it would truly a fabulous experience. Having met up with a few other CD’s here for dinner and such, but to spend a whole few days, meeting, talking, shopping, and most important, simply living as Amy for days, would be, just amazing! Not enough words in our language to describe how it might feel, or I just lack the skill.

The hardest part, would be to go back into the often (for many of us) usual drab mode after living, and being a woman. Tough job. But I’d like to have to try it sometime!

      Amy

I’m uncertain of the possibilities of it becoming a reality. I don’t travel much and have limited funds for doing so but to go to an event like this, especially in New Orleans accompanied by Tifftastic and Samantha would be a priceless adventure with lifelong memories and likely unspeakable experiences for sure.

I answered maybe, because it all depends on my SO.  If an event/conference were to occur while she is out of town, then my ability to go increases exponentially.  Being a closeted lady, it all depends upon timing.

I do love the idea of attending and having that personal face-to-face meeting with other members.

Maybe the conference could change locations yearly, to let people who can’t easily travel long distances have a chance.

For me, I would gladly travel to NYC, LA, Seattle, Frisco, Vegas, etc….to spend time to meet and be with my friends here.  Just need my SO to be gone for several days so I can get away and be me.

      Hi Tiff

I’d like to do a cruise with a group of CDs It would be very rewarding and educational. I’m sure my wife would love to come also. This would be a perfect opportunity to let Ellie out into like minded public which is a current goal

Too bad there wasn’t some way to make it seem like an event/conference oriented towards whatever each attendee does…like a fake changeable listing of profession specific topics that gets generated on registration, for those trying to get free in covert fashion……

I would love to but it would be rather difficult. It would have to be fairly close to me and I’m not sure how I could arrange getting away since my wife and I are both retired and I don’t as a rule go anywhere without her for any length of time. She is also unaware of my crossdressing which further complicates things.

      Heavy sigh 😔

It didn’t completely fold- just downsized ad went to Ft. Lauderdale , but there are others around the country like Keystone and Esprit and First Event, etc.

We’re thinking along the same lines, Tiff. NOLA would be a haul for me, but certainly a lot better than Chicago or the left coast. I’ve been trying to organize something here in Florida, but there doesn’t seem to be enough interest– at least among CDH members. I’m checking out a new group next week. One thing that I’d like to see integrated into events, like Keystone & Southern Comfort, is sports. I would love to do things, en femme, like pickleball, softball, volleyball, swimming, tennis, golf, etc. Maybe even our own version of Lingerie Football.

I know it’s west coast-but Esprit in Port Angeles WA has croquet and pickleball and pool tournaments and one member also organizes a golf outing. And Rhonda and I went to a sportsbar during Keystone and played pool!

      Hey, Tiff……………

Okay, so this is my “I have a dream speech”……

I have a dream that one day, a venue will be chosen where all willing members of CDH can gather, en femme, with no fear of persecution, to meet and socialize.

I hope it’ll be a big conference, very much like Keystone, maybe a week long, where CDH guests constitute at least 50% of the venue.

And even better, in NOLA, near Tiff, near Samantha Roarke. And near me! Maybe Samantha can “pull some strings” and procure a whole second floor, or maybe even 50% of the occupancy of one of the NOLA hotels!!!

Of course, SOs, SOGFs, supporting or otherwise, would be invited. The event hosts (and guests, too) would be especially supportive of ladies like Berta (and me!) who get goose bumps at the very thought of appearing en femme, even among a large crowd of welcoming CDH sisters.

Ah, but if only…. If only it wasn’t a dream.

Hi. What a wonderful idea. Since there is membership from all over the world the cost of travel would be prohibitive. The logistics of setting it up, especially with a hotel where we might get discount rates, would be mind boggling. I think a Centrally located city would be best, like Chicago Il, Branson Mo or Dallas Tx would be best. I’ll offer whatever assistance I can.

This is difficult for this “closeted” “Lady” and why I had to vote: “Maybe, I’m not sure”! At my age travel is difficult especially with both gender wardrobes, which I’ve never done. The thought of being around others with like minds and feelings dressed en-femme gives me goose bumps. On the other hand, dealing with my non-supportive knowing wife is a whole other situation. I’m only one “gurl” among many CDH members and feel you or a group of members should try this. Possibly some sort of on-line attendance arrangement could be made for those members in situations like mine!
      Good luck,

      Berta

It’s not in the summer but the cd/tg conference Esprit is in May each year for the last 30 in Port Angeles just two hours west of Seattle. I live in VA but have been to three so far and am coming in 2020 as well. I room with April Pacific Princess!

I’ve looked into attending Esprit but unfortunately it is on during the exact same week as my SO’s film festival (which is a top priority for me to volunteer at). Port Angeles does look like fun and it would be great taking the ferry over from Victoria. Take care Cyn.

Can say definitely wouldn’t do New Orleans in the late summer/early autumn, so if that is the time, maybe…

It would need to be somewhere near my hometown in Everett WA for it to be possible for me.

Look into Esprit in Port Angeles WA just west of Seattle. I’ve been to three of them and will be there again in 2020!
