Can’t help myself! Went to the local thrift store and found another great pair of jeans. I took a blouse in the dressing room with me and tried that on too. Was a bit too tight but now I have a better idea of what to look for. (and how much weight I need to lose!).
Today’s been good. My attire has not seemed to arouse too much attention, even from my SO. I’m going to have some hours alone this evening, so a great opportunity to do some laundry, among other things!
Hope you are all having a fabulous day!

I love the thrill of trying on women’s clothes in thrift stores as much as wearing them when I get caught and I do get caught I always tell them if for a party 1 day I said I just like to be girly the lady said that’s ok brought a lot more stuff from here until the shop closed

I was fun! The guy who unlocked the dressing room for me saw me browsing among the blouses, and it was obvious I had one, and around the womens jeans too. I think he’s seen me there before, and with what I was wearing it was pretty obvious all around.

You rock, Rebekka! I have been to a couple of thrift stores and have yet to work up the courage to try things on. So very inspiring to hear.

Thank you Bobbi and Michelle for your kind responses. Michelle, it took me a while to work up the courage but once you start doing it, it becomes easier. I’m at the point (in one store) where they stopped telling me, “you know, these are the womens jeans?”, ‘Yup” I answer and just keep on looking. Now I’ve worked up the courage to try on blouses, and next possible a dress or two!

You should have your SO help you find better fitting clothes. She will know she wears the same type clothing. Cotton t’s skinny jeans and flats are the standard where I live. That shouldnt arouse to much attention.

Wish I could do that, but SO is not into my doing this.
🙂
I do have to figure out what size dress I wear.

as for your dress size… most places that sell dresses , from Lane Bryant to the Dress Barn to any department store will help you. getting to try on and have the salesgirl ‘zip you up’ is so validating!! and if you want a really great ‘girl experience’ try on some wedding dresses !!

Rebekka, I know what you mean. When the shopping bug bites whats a “gurl” to do. I haven’t shopped for jeans yet, but reading your stories, I’m looking forward to it when I do.

Hi Rebekah,
Great that you had a good shopping trip. Sizing can be complicated so trying on items works best for fit. Great too you found a good deal on the jeans.

Hi Rebekka !
What a wonderful shopping experience! I got my Loft jeans in a thrift shop. The most comfortable jeans I own. I wore them in drab to a play Saturday with my Wife.
Here’s a tip….. Thrift stores in “higher income” neighborhoods have higher “value” merchandise.
Hugs
Autumn

Just wanted to let you all know that Walmart online has vintage swing dresses in regular and plus sizes along with petticoats to poof the dress out for 20 dollar or less. Just put the subject in the search area. I got bobby a nice 50’s dress in his size for Halloween part’s this year. He will be a smash again this year.
