Hello Girls,
I have a question on body shaving. This would include legs, under-arms, fore-arms, chest and private parts. My SO always did it for me with a blade razor because I have Tremors and my hands shake to much that I would have cuts and blood all over me if I did it myself like I use to. But she walked out and left me the day after Christmas so therefore I am left to do it myself. My only option is to use the electric razor that I use on my face.
I know that they sell “Body Shavers” and I use to use one but I found that there wasn’t really any difference from my electric face shaver. Any thoughts or opinions.

Sorry this happened to you the day after Christmas…you can try an epilator, IPL, a depilatory, laser or getting waxed. You could try a different shave than you currently have and see if it shaves close enough.

My wife (to my surprise) gave me a “men’s body shaver” for Christmas. I’m still experimenting with it. I’ll let you know what I think.

My shaver just broke and I want a landing strip😒😒

Caly, I had a landing strip years ago but I didn’t care for it. I just preferred to have it completely hairless down below. So that is the way I keep it.

This was my first time and I’d rather do a design maybe. It just feels so feminine!

I echo the depilatory cream as not only an easy option but also cheap. The different brands out there all seem to do a little different job, and work a little differently with each person’s chemistry. I use Veet on my delicate parts, and it’s great. Takes about ten minutes, which is i think longer than it says to, but it doesn’t burn with my skin type there. On the other hand, if I try to use it anywhere else, I break out in acne, so I only use it there. I tried Nad’s, and it worked in other areas ok, but not where I was most concerned at that time. I stopped using it before I started shaving my legs, so no data there. Hope this helps some.

Zap that hair!! You may want to look into a ILP…
Here is some info if you don’t know what it is. ILP: is a broad-spectrum light that’s scattered across the skin to help with permanent hair reduction. It directs light at the melanin (the pigment that gives the skin/hair its colour) in the hair follicle, damaging the root and helping to break the cycle of regrowth. Don’t expect instant results, but with regular use, it can help prevent unwanted hair from reaching the skin surface. Energy, frequency, skin and hair colour are all determining factors in the efficacy of the treatment.
Most of the best IPL hair removal devices are suitable for the body and face. They work by gliding or stamping the device over skin, emitting light as they go. Gliding is convenient for larger surface areas of the body (such as your legs). Stamping (pressing onto the area) is better for smaller areas where you need to be more precise.-SR-

Hi Kathleen, sorry to hear about your wife. I just shaved my legs, chest and delicate area for the first time.
My GG friend love her epilator. She’s also desparate to wax my face. That’s not going to happen.
Hugs, Love Trish

So sorry to hear about your SO walking out on you. It’s happening to me via a divorce so I know something of what you are going through so I feel for you. I must admit to really enjoying shaving my arms, legs, etc.as a prelude to dressing. I wonder if for you the best option might be a depilatory cream. There is certainly something really sensuous about putting on stockings after shaving!
Stay safe and positive

Hi Kathleen,
My best wishes for you… sad for that to happen especially at this time of year. All sorts of people go through hell at this time of the year and make really strange decisions.
Hoever, I digress… An Epilady comes with a close trimming head that will work much better that a male apparatus. Its great for trimming not too thick growth and tremors should not affect the process. I must say that trimming genital hair can be problematic though.Best of luck //Polly

Hi Kathleen,
I’m so sorry to hear your sad news. You will get though this.
Before I got laser/IPL, I used a Braun Silk Epil epilator on most parts of my body. It worked really well and kept me smooth for 2-3 weeks. I wouldn’t recommend using an epilator on your face or genital area though. Ouch!
Before the Silk Epil I used a Braun 7 Series shaver. It worked really well on every part of my body. Obviously shaving requires a lot more effort to stay consistently hair free. That’s why I switched to epilating.
I paid about $60 for the Silk Epil and about $100 for the Series 7.
If you’re financially able, laser treatment will keep you hair free for up to 2 years. The results are fantastic. It also avoids the various skin irritations you get from epilating and shaving. It’ll set you back a few thousand though.
A less expensive option to laser that’s equally as effective is a home IPL device. I bought a Philips Lumea Prestige for about $500. Highly recommended.
One thing I don’t like about hair removal done by myself is the inability to get to the middle of my back. I’m pretty flexible but my arms can only contort so much. Having help is definitely a plus.
Big hug,

Lady shavers are best if you are shaving. Waxing lasts longer but can cost a fortune but its a little treat i give myself when i can afford it

Good question. I’m curious about them as well.
