Bra problems

hi all. Bought a new bra, correct size but the lower band chafes.  Is this a common problem or did I get bad merchandise?  Can I do anything to soften it?

Hi Leah ….where is it chafing?  on the sides?  one thing you could try is lambs wool under the band where it is chafing.

Hi Brianna.  It’s on the lower edge of the bottom band. I tried rubbing it but no luck. I may try using tape to cushion it. Thanks!

Hi Leah.  Bras….the bain of our existence and womens’. Almost every bra is a bit off what the label says and sizing is different, depending upon where it is made.  Is the bottom band stiff or starched. Try a couple of soakings in fabric softener. Women are quite flat in this area where as men usually have a bit of fat here which causes a little roll over when you move. That being said…perhaps try a bra that is i size up from what you have……ie:  34 B   go to 36 B. Measure your chest for band size with cloth tape then at the store fold bra over and measure x2 or just measure end to end. Let me know how you make out.  PS….Keep back straight to keep little slouch out of posture especially when sitting.

Is this your first bra?  Sizing for any clothing type varies a lot. I have bought many bras and no two are alike, even if the size reads the same.  Washing may help.  But you may have to give up.

Next time look at details closer.  Check the feel with your fingers. Test stretchyness.  Women do it all the time.

Hang in there.  Shopping is part of the fun!

Its important that you get the right size bra. I’ve struggled in the past but I eventually realised that if I measure myself as its recommended that women do then I’ll get the right size bra for me. I’ve followed the bra size guides on various stores’ websites and it works, for me anyway! I now wear very comfortable 42D (UK size) bras. Once you hit on the right size you’ll feel so comfortable!

Hi everyone

Tho I wear my 18/40C bra and forms most of the time, both privately) and the few occasions I’ve been  out in public), unless I lost abit of weight recvently I could “fill” and A cup quite nicely, Always in private, cos it just would not work “outside”!

So online line I sourced a 16a and then used a bra extender to lengthen the band. Felt great to have my own “little titties” encased in a nice lacy bra.

Now most of the “fill has emptied”, but the good news, is some of my outer wear garments that were a struggle in the past now fit me without a corset. “Cant have it both ways”.

As an aside I would be surprised if all “you Nth American lot”, have not perused this area of the HerRoom website

Another aside. Wow, did I get my “jollies” when I looked up a certain lovely Simone Perele bra that was still full priced on Her Room, but Ihas been discontinued out here in “Oz”. I bought the above and matching full brief panty for half of the price of the bra on Her Room.  OZ CDH members should try to find their nearest SP outlet store!
