Listening to a radio show yesterday, they were discussing the biggest sports stories of the year. The topic of Caitlyn Jenner receiving the ESPY Courage Award was discussed with a lot of callers filled with anger and religion to justify bigotry. Comments I heard and my response “I’m a Christian and I feel persecuted.” You can be as Christian today as you’ve been in the last 40 years, you just can’t control the lifestyles of others or what’s on your television. It’s called a remote… use it. “What bothers me is how the media is forcing it down my throat and demanding I celebrate transgender lifestyles.” Ummm no one is showing up at your house handing you a pom pom and demand you celebrate the transgender lifestyle. “What am I supposed to tell my kids” They are your kids and you’re their parents you figure it out. Don’t have kids if you cannot figure out what to tell them.cBottom line don’t have them. It’s a teaching moment. Big picture it was a message of inclusion and accepting and respecting others.
