Is there a way for me to delete my own public photos?

Yes.

Go to each one, and under the image, click on “author tools”. It will give you the option to delete it there.

Hi Stephanie! I found “author tools” only after I clicked on a picture and opened it so I was looking at one image, not the whole gallery. It’s not an obvious button, just a text link.
