Do you have your ears pierced? Both?
Or clip ons?

I have to wear clipons or magnetic earrings. Really had to find drops and dangles that aren’t for pierced ears!

Having to present as a 50 year old conservative male in the financial industry means /i can’t have any overtly feminine factors(plucked eyebrows-pierced ears-long flowing hair, etc. ). I wish there some way to get them pierced but NOT having it be visible to any one else. Don’t suppose there are any fairy Godmothers who can make that possible are there?

Thanks Denise-now if I could just wave a wand and go back and forth on having REAL piercings (two in each ear I think:) )that could be hidden when I didn’t want them seen…..

Clips – just don’t have the nerve to have my ears pierced.

• #9199

I have modified some piercing ear rings for clip-on by buying the clips at hobby lobby… and found some pretty clip-on at flea markets too… one can pickup some lower price jewelry there as well.

I had my left ear pierced for my 30th birthday(my dad did it). I am thinking about getting the right one done next year for my 60th birthday.

• #21728

I have both pierced. The piercing person actual used a tool that created a hole so that it will never fill back in. I am a professional person wear diamond studs daily and no one ever comments on them. My wife hates it, but I look at it this way, it is my body I can do with it as I want to. It is my personal opinion, but I do not like tattoos; but if she wanted them it is her choice, her body, and I have no say in the matter.

Both ears pierced, but definitely going to get more in my ears. Going to also get my belly button done some day, and possibly a few more! 🙂

• #21736

I had both ears pierced as a late 60th birthday present to myself. Wishing that I had done it years ago does not make it happen but I would say to anyone else, if you want it, do it. people will only comment for a short time before they accept it as something that is part of who you are.

i have 3 piercings in each lobe….thinking about going for a 4th in each soon

• #22049

I got my ears pierced for the first time in my life back in March. Have to say the 6 week heel time was a real pain but that’s done.
Been discovering the possibilities now that they’re pierce. Going to get 2 more in each ear which I think will be pretty spiffy.
So yeah real bold moves this year.

No I am still a virgin lobewise. But it will happen I’d say in two months after my hair is another inch longer. I have been m”mommed” and “ma’amed” so I am entitled. So now I am enjoying the nervous anticipation I very much crave like standing at the door in full femme building up the courage to leave the security of home and go out in public. Researching every aspect of the event like planning a vacation. So much fun!

I thought of making a new thread, but I found this older thread, so as long as nobody minds, I’ll just bring it back up to the top. 🙂

I’m loving jewelry, in general. But I’m hating clipons. After a few hours, at least one of my earlobes will ache, and sometimes it’ll stay red for a day – and once or twice, I’ve even had a small lump under the skin. So I bought a pair of magnetic. They’re awesome! They look like studs, without the holes. They pinched a bit eventually too, but it took much longer before they started to bother me. I liked them enough that I just bought a set of different colored gemstones off of Amazon. (The only real problem I see so far with magnetic? A lot of them are geared toward little girls, tween and younger, in size and appearance.)

The last time I wore the magnetic earrings, I sent a picture to a friend of mine. She thought I got my ears pierced. I laughed at her, and said I would love to but there was absolutely no way I could do it. Having pierced ears would be so far outside my normal persona. She quickly had the answer. “Tell anybody who asks that you lost a bet and had to do it.” And… that’s pretty darn brilliant, actually. I’m sure I’d still have some comments from family and coworkers who would be shocked. My brother would be a huge pain in the ass about it – he thinks he’s funny, but he’s really not and he has a way of staying on something for weeks or months or even years without letting go.

So, after that way too long-winded intro… have any of the older ladies around here had it done later in life? Particularly those whose male persona would never get their ears pierced? I’m 46, for reference. I know pierced ears are somewhat in style for men now. But… well, I’ve never been in style. If you had it done, how did it go? What did you tell people? What sort of earrings do you wear in male-mode?

Ever since she casually tossed out the “say you lost a bet” line, I’ve been giving it serious consideration. So I’d love to hear from those of you who’ve had it done, and what you’ve told people, and what you wear in male-mode. (I can see wearing diamond studs in male-mode, even though that seems to be fashionable – again, I’m far from a fashion plate in male-mode.)

Thanks, Gals! <3

Hi Rose,
As I said in this thread 2 1/2 years ago, I had my ears pierced at 60 and wish I had done it 40 years earlier.
I just told people that I liked it. Even some guys with one ear pierced asked me why and I told them that I didn’t want to feel unbalanced.
Like you, I was certainly never a fashion plate when in drab but I loved the feminine feeling I would get from wearing some dangly earrings, still do.
I started with studs but eventually became more adventurous when out in public in drab mode. I can’t remember the last time someone actually commented on them.
Hugs

Thanks, Sheryl. I know for things like this the fear is almost always worse in our mind than whatever happens in reality. And yet… Much like you, I’m quite sure I’ll get there at some point. The question is just when. And also like you, I’m quite sure I’ll wish I had done it sooner.

I had my ears pierced for my 65th birthday and wish I would have done it long ago. I have several pair that I wear in man mode that are themed to my interests – Mayan calendars, golf balls, east and west hemisphere, cocoabolo wood, puppy feet – so as the answer anyone who asks why. In the female mode I love dangly earrings and hoops.

• #46102

I have had both my ears double pierced for 20+ years. Usually I don’t wear anything in them when I’m not dressed up.
I have a very nice pair of white gold diamond studs that I had bought an ex, a long time ago. When we broke up, she left them behind (probably unintentionally), but they look fantastic, and are getting plenty of use these days 🙂

It’s clipons for me for now. I would love to pierce my ears but my wife only found out about my crossdressing fairly recently and we’re still working our way through everything at this point so at the moment I’m not pushing the envelope at home.

Both ears pierced once. Nobody ever notices if I don’t have earrings on.

• #50572

I had mine done about 9 months back – at the ripe age of 71!!

In guy mode, I have a pair of small diamond studs and a pair of turquoise studs (for sentimental reasons). My family & friends have clearly noticed & have understood the “turquoise ” rationale without any equivocation.

In “dressed” mode its different – but they don’t know :-).

Bottom line is that these days it is no big deal for guys to have pierced ears.

• #50591

I was desperate to get my ears pierced but it scared me to death at the time in my small conservative community. Finally I came up with a plan and after coming home from a cruise I decided to go ahead and get one ear pierced and just tell people it was something sailors did when they would cross the equator. So off to the mall I went and up to the piercing kiosk. I almost turned around and ran several times but the young lady behind the kiosk came up and asked if I was looking for myself or someone else. I hestiated long enough for her to comment that we do a lot of mens ears and we have some really cool gold studs that would great on you. Next thing I knew pop went the gun and off I went with a gold stud and bottle of antiseptic to wart off infections. It was a bit disconcerting going back to the office but no one made a big deal about it and I didn’t even need use my fabricated story. My plan then was to go back in six weeks when I could safely take this stud out without the hole closing and get the other ear pierced hoping no one would notice the gold stud was in the opposite ear. When I returned to the office and no one said anything I thought I had got away with it until about a month later when we drew names for our secret santa and would leave small anonymous gifts for the person we had choosen and I came into the office and there was a small package on my desk with two sets of earrings one that was a pair of sterling silver studs and the other a pair of gold dangly earrings with a note that said no one here really has a problem with you wearing earrings but it’s kind of silly you wearing only one instead of the pair. We’re all in your corner. At that moment I knew I was busted but also humbled a bit.

I guess I am very blessed. My wife wanted me to get my ears pierced. I have two in each ear at the moment and am looking at having more. I have been throwing around the idea of another two or three sets. They are so addictive with the way they feel, love them! Wish I would have gotten them pierced years ago….

I wear clip-on earrings at the moment but am planning to get my ears pierced in a few weeks time before we go on holiday. My wife has said she’ll let me borrow some of her earrings once I’ve had them done which is very nice of her. I think in man mode I’ll stick to small studs.

Got mine pierced few months ago (1 per ear) . Wear them also in male (but with more male earrings like fake plugs of 4 mm) love them and I now understand why my wife have 3 on one side, 2 on the other… so addictive

• #56340

Since my previous post on this topic I have had both ears pierced. Nearly 3 weeks now and I’ll soon be able to change my gold studs for something else. I guess I’l stick to small studs in male mode but I have changed 4 pairs of good quality clip on earrings to use with piercing and they look OK (my wife modeled them for me). I have received very few comments but those I have had have been complimentary say how nice they are. My advice would be if you want to get piercings to go for it. I should have done mine years ago.

• #56341

I love having my ears done. I have two in each lobe and i am doing my top cartalidge tonight. I have some clear plastic studs that are difficult to see so have those in at work due to dress regulations. I love metal work and also have nipple and bellybutton done. Want more so much.

I have both my ears pierced twice, but the other day I saw a waitress who was all pierced up. Her nose [septum], her lips, her tongue, all the way around her ears, and a couple others Industrial , Tragus, Orbital…
And I thought to myself… “I need to get my hands on a piercing kit for a long weekend, and spend Friday night going a little (lot) wild.”
I do like the look of the Austin Bar across the nose, but that’s sure to leave a mark 😉

• #57634

So it’s Friday… I’m sitting here in black stockings, black lace bra, cute thong panties – under my clothes… and I can hardly wait to get home and have the whole weekend to myself (aka SHE-Self!) I did all the dishes, laundry, housecleaning, took out the garbage, did the shopping… (Is this what they call being a “prepper” Ha ha ha?) Going for a run on the way home, then the whole weekend to be sexy.
I have some white glittery acrylic ballerina nails waiting at home (to match my fresh pedicure), Nice False Lashes, Three new Dresses, and Two new Wigs to play with. My doctor friend is dropping by for a Mojito and I may have to beg her a little bit to do saline injections into my lips so that they are Huge and Pouty! She always asks me ‘how big I want them’ as a bit of a joke, I always say “Cartoon Pornstar”. Then I want to try out some new Lipstick and Infallible Lip Paint to cover them with! Yum!
I’m sitting here smoldering, feeling all wild and kinky. I’m thinking about doing some home piercing tonight… navel?, nose?, maybe a bunch of studs along my earlobe(s)?, maybe all of the above? LOL As long as nothing “shows” at work on Monday! right?
When the mind is under-challenged, it can really come up with some great ways to get myself into trouble!
Happy Femme Friday!

Got my earlobes pierced last Monday and had studs (1 in each lobe) inserted to begin. It is the first ‘permanent’ and ‘publicly viewable’ thing I’ve done.

Wasn’t sure of how to respond to ‘why did you get it done’ so I just said, “I don’t know. Being a rebel I guess”. I really wanted to say, ‘because I just love dangly earrings’.

I’ve had both mine done years ago I think it was 1996 when I got up the courage to get them done. It was a fad at work so I thought what the hell. Was so tired of clip on’s!!! We all did each others. Being in the medical field helps!!!

Just got them pierced tonight, wearing some small silver studs for now, looking forward to buying both masculine and feminine earrings. I don’t care what people say. I know my family will freak out a little, but that’s alright, they’ll get over it quick enough. The younger son is the only one that knows so far and he doesn’t care. I suspect most people won’t care at all. I have to say, if you’re at all interested in getting pierced ears, do it for yourself. It’s something you can enjoy all day, every day.

This was funny…I told my teenage son I was going to get my ears pierced, so he knew about it, but in typical teen fashion didn’t care. I got them done, he didn’t say anything that evening. He didn’t say anything the following morning. Around noon he looks at me and clearly notices the obvious white gold posts in my ears for the first time…cocks his head to the side as says “I gotta be honest…those don’t look bad on you.” and then went about his day. I thought it was funny he didn’t notice for so long, and when he did, his reaction was surprise that it actually looked good (dressed as a male, I only dress in private).

After my kids I decided to do the right ear and ended up gauging them out i usually wear horse shoes but havent in awhile due to the fact i took them out one cold morning when i was in the tree stand these days people dont care that men have pierced ears so ladies if ya want em get em done i would suggest that you go from the usual small gauge to a 14 gauge that way ya get the tougher look when you’re dressed as a guy and you can get some nice ones for lady time

I’ve been wondering about this. I have been wanting to get my ears pierced but my wife has long had the opinion that she doesn’t like pierced ears on men. She had this opinion long before she knew about Roberta. Who she is still growing used to. I think she is worried I’ll end up looking like Captain Jack Sparrow.

If go forward with these I would want them to be very low profile when I am in boy mode. Has anyone tried this with the flesh toned end caps or very small profile ends? Or maybe I should just buy a bulk box of one style of clip ons. They work but I keep losing one part of the pair of the damned things.

On a very different topic I wonder if I should continue be patient and wait for her to come around to the idea or if I should push the idea?

As a child, only women had pierced ears, and when I secretly used the bijouterie of the women in my family, I thought the only thing I could never wear was that kind of ear rings. In the 70s I saw the movie of the Woodstock recital, where the male rockers had pierced ears, and later, it became popular, first in football players, and then in many young men. For me, having my ears pierced was like a sexual characteristic of women, it was my dream. And I just dared to tell my wife that I wanted to do it after my 40 years, on a trip to Europe. And get me the ear rings when I go back to Argentina. I thought with fear that people would look at my ears … No one looked at me. Since then I only use them in secret, alone at home, or when I go to Buenos Aires to crossdressers meetings. So, nothing is so wonderful for me than this.<span id=”t-served-community-button” class=”trans-verified-button goog-toolbar-button” style=”display: none;” role=”button” aria-hidden=”true”>

Pierced the left ear when I was 17 – glam rock/Bowie time so no one blinked twice. A friend did the piercing with a darning needle And it got painfully infected. I would not advise self piercing or going to a jeweller who uses one of those stud staplers. When I started dressing in earnest 4 years ago I went to a professional piercer/tattoo artist for two new ear piercings. Was fastidious about aftercare and avoiding infection. Waited 4 months before changing up the studs for more decorative dangles! Love the look and feel!

I have a question about an issue no one has mentioned. I would love to get my ears pierced. I had my nipples pierced for a while a couple of years ago, but the piercings kept snagging on my clothes and I had the piercings removed, but that is another story. My worry with getting my earlobes done is that they tend to be very hairy I have to shave them every couple of days. Is this just a me issue or does anyone else have this problem?

• #439621

I shave my face every day, and once a week I still some ear hair with a tweezer. There won’t be any trouble. You have to pierce your ears. You’re going to thank me.

Hi Leslie,

And oh,yes! The hair on my ears is the fastest-growing, and the coarsest on my body, which is mostly hair-free. I keep plucking, but can’t seem to be rid of it.

Thanks it is nice to know that am not alone in this. I been wondering if electrolysis or some thing like that would help, it is always such a dead giveaway- growing old is such a pain in so many ways. Even when I waxed regularly it grew back quickly. I was hoping that the testosterone blocker I am on would help but not yet so probably not. Oh well such is live!

Leslie, I’ve been thinking about electrolysis, also; just haven’t gotten around to finding someplace to do it. The hair is very dark, so it should be easy. My natural hair is now long enough to hide my ears, but just knowing the hair is there bothers me.

My wife took me and had my ears pierced in 1985 and I have worn earrings ever since. But i have been contemplating a second piercing in each ear. I did try a pair of clip on earrings once but after awhile they began to hurt. Never again.

Back in the fab 80’s I had my left ear lobe double pierced. Not sure if they’re still open. It was a self piercing and no issues that I recall. Might go to the tattoo/piercing shop and get them both done. So many people have both ears pierced, all sexes and backgrounds so that seems to be rather mainstream nowadays.

Back in November I got both ears pierced. Already had 1 in my left. Now it’s a double. Hugs

got my ears pierced about a year ago. only piercings that show all the time. and the only piercings i didnt do myself. it was on my bucket list last year and while out on a 3 day girl weekend i got them done. i already had some body piercing that i did myself. did my bellybutton about 5 to 6 years ago. did my nipples about 18 years ago. also did a prince albert about 18 years ago that was the hardest one to do yourself, but i did it and love it. and one on the under side of my cock. guess i was a little crazy back then. i love all my piercings. i have 5 on my body plus both ears.

Really want to… it’s definitely a bucket list item for 2021. Buuut I still worry about the reaction of my parents, which is pretty dumb (I’m 50, and I’m worried about what my parents think about my already apparently random life choices)

I did just fit some nice clip on hoops that came in the post this morning. From an Etsy shop in France. Will see how they go….

Love and holes in things….!

go for it. i got mine pierced last year. im 57. worried about what my parents might say. went over to play cards. it took them an hour to notice i got my ears pierced. then they said oh my god you got your ears pierced and i said yes everyones does it now. they never said anything about it again. we are old enough to make our own decisions.

Right now I use clip on’s but would absolutely love to get them done. 2 holes on each side.

Pierced last fall during a lull in the pandemic. I wear all the time. These days I’m wearing gold hoops even in drab at work. Starting to put together a little collection, but I’ve found that I have to have gold posts, as other metals irritate my ears.

I have multiple piercings in each ear and they slightly gauged. Have had them all in for years and got the first set in my lobes when I was 18.

I wholeheartedly agree Paulina Val. Pierced earrings just add so much more to my sense of femininity especially danglers.
