Being in a city–But- It’s Conservative London Ontario Canada–& I work afternoons –Finding support or even Friendly groups/places to go seems Impossible–I Was doing great until my biggest supporter (Loving wife) died –she gave me the courage to be me–but now I’m afraid to leave the house “”dressed”” by myself– This is driving me Crazy–but I don’t know what to do!!!  (or how to do it)–suggestions–

So, I live in a big city and there are still far and few places that seem to be open about being a CD meeting group. I also work second shift so I understand completely missing out on meet-ups. Several non-CD groups are missing out cause they meet during second shift, which I work. Meetup.com has a few for drags, trans, and the like so starting there isn’t a bad thing.

This place is also great for making your own support group. I have talked on and off with several girls from my state. Several of them we have talked about going out dressed up together at some point. I would love to create a CD support group or something.

Other things to look for is Drag Nights. Most people won’t look twice as CDs or Trans when visiting Drag Queens as well as it is never a bad thing to look for CD vacation spots or nearby and more liberal cities to do a day trip to.

Sorry to hear about my the wife, my sincerest condolences.

Thank you Jenny–I will try meetup.com–But somehow all this online stuff Feels like Pretend to me–Like the old having a penpal–fun for a bit, however like responding to a news article–(I do a lot of that)  Without human connection, It’s all academic–Like reading books or youtube about how to build a house –that would be “Some ” house without hands on experience & a teacher beforehand– Or mabe it’s just me–I can’t seem to grasp the tutorials online about Makeup (wife used to do mine) I end up looking like a Clown trying to follow instructions online- & that certainly doesn’t help my confidence-  I don’t mean to Whine, but I’m becoming a hermit & I hate what I’m becoming-

So it doesn’t have to stay online only. I have met with one fellow girl on another site and we chatted in a Starbucks. The breast forms I wear in my picture comes from a girl who bought them for herself and then had top surgery so she didn’t need them any more, but didn’t know what the heck to do with them. I don’t think Goodwill accepts breast forms.

Will it take time to find someone near you? Yes. Is it hopeless? No. Remember Covid is still a thing a lot of people aren’t up for meeting new people in person just yet. Not to mention a lot of us have heard horror stories about meet-ups gone wrong. Give them time, talk to and find people in your area, suggest meeting up at a PUBLIC place in DRAB first. Meeting good, lasting friends is a marathon, not a sprint.
