I recently accepted the fact that I am Transgendered, and I have told some of my family. As part of my transition I have scheduled an appointment with an endo. Thought it is 6 months away. She is a very busy Dr.

What can I expect in my first visit? I openly dress daily, and I have informed the Dr’s office of this.

You can expect questions. Such as what do you want to achieve? What steps have you taken? How long (have you been ‘dressing’, been aware, etc.)

You can expect tests. Blood samples for example, to determine your various levels. This will help determine what pharmaceuticals are needed.

You can expect a prescription and the methods used (pay attention). Probably for testosterone blockers to begin with.

Above all, pay attention to how well you get along with this person. You need to trust them and feel comfortable with them.

You will be told some things to expect (i.e., emotional changes, physiological changes).

You can expect to be alright.

Thank You Laurie for this thread. I’m going to be starting transgender counseling and I hope hormone therapy. I am curious as to what type of emotional changes I may experience. Also is Endo short for a longer name for the doctor? I’m ready to see about the transition surgery as well, so many things to ask about. I know I’m transgender, I just want to find out all I can about this journey imI on. Thank you everyone for your words of feminine wisdom. ((((HUGS)))) 💋

Great news Laurie!! I’ve had my first appointment and now I’m waiting for my blood results to come back….

Firstly relax and enjoy it; I’ve never been calmer since that visit (and that’s before I started any drugs….!)

      dm me anytime xx
