Thanksgiving has never been a major holiday in my family-perhaps because in my younger years , my dad was in the US Air Force and we were often overseas and always away from both my parents’ own families. Christmas and Easter were always the bigger celebrations for us. But in the last two plus years, I have gained a much larger family-my friends here on the site. I have been fortunate enough to meet about ten to twelve of you in person and hope to meet more at some upcoming conferences next year, but it is the day to day interaction in chat and PMs that helps me get through days when I’m feeling less than my usual “fabtastic”. I am truly thankful to be blessed by the friends I have made here and can never hope to repay the love and kindness you have given me. But there is one thing I have tried to do for the past few years…to be in chat for those who for whatever reason don’t have family they can be with on Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve or Christmas morning. I will be on the room from a bit after 5pm Eastern tonight for as long as I can manage and again Christmas Eve and Christmas morning and (pending Virginia Tech’s bowl game invitation) New Year’s Eve as well. So please come join the chat -whether you’re alone or just taking a break from your own celebration. I love you all and wish everyone a joyous and happy Holiday season!
Luv,
