The Book ’em Danno thread made me wonder who has ever been pulled over by the police when en femme.

I was driving through a small town in the middle of nowhere Nevada dressed, except for my wig when I left a small town and accelerated back to highway speeds, when I see the flashing lights in my mirror. Apparently I was not completely out of the towns speed limit (even though I was nearly a mile out in the desert past the town.) I was dressed in jeans, t

blouse and forms, light makeup and nail polish and my wig was sitting on the passenger seat because it was getting too hot. Nothing to do at that point but apologies and say that I thought I was past the town limits. The local cop just asked if that was a wig to which I just said yes, and he walked back to his patrol car to write me up. He was nice enough to just write the ticket for 5 mph over the speed limit, which cost me $75…fair enough, and nothing more was said.

No big deal at all, and life just went on, all be it, with my wallet $75 dollars lighter.

Anybody else have such stories? Hopefully all fun, but do tell.

JJ, I was just about to say no then I thought back, yes I was!! Back in 1980 to 82 I was getting into crossdressing before I shamed myself into quitting for almost 40 years. I was completely made up (lots of makeup to) and out for a drive. I drove the wrong way on a one way street on the local collage campus and was stopped by the campus cops. They let me off with a verbal warning. This might be part of the reason I purged back then.

Not for a traffic violation but here we have road census that require you to stop if required. Police do the stop and I was stopped. I was only asked questions about where I was going, where I came from and whether I used the road a lot. That done I was on my way. No requirement to give my name as it was not for any offence, the only thing recorded was my registration. I was called madam and treated as everyone else who were stopped.

I wonder if he would have let you off if you’d been wearing the wig, JJ…

      JJ,

The first few times I went out in public en femme I worried about it but as I became more comfortable and confident as Fiona I found it really doesn’t bother me. I have not been pulled over yet but if I am I would be honest & pleasant with the cop and feel things will go okay.

Once whilst on business in Perth, Western Australia some 30 odd years ago. I deceided Caty would be the “company rep” and drive around an industrial estate where one of my clients was located. Circa 11pm at night aint smart , got pulled up, flashing blue lights, the works. The nice copper just checked my drivers licence and I guess the rental car plates and then as he gave me back my licence said. “Think it’s time you went back to your hotel SIR!

Yes sir, no sir, 3 bags full, (of rice breast forms) sir..

Tho by then I think I’d graduated to silicon forms!!! Mostly cos I remember Perth was the place where I bought my first pair..

My experience was different then the post is directed at but I was pulled over/stopped while I was walking!

It was daytime and I kind of thought a police car was following me or at least seriously looking at me but as there were many 1 way streets it was not continuous. A few blocks later as I was nearing my car, it happened-they stopped and got out to talk to me. I was honestly clueless as to why… Turns out they were suspicious I was a hooker and possibly involved in drugs because the location I was at is known for this type of activity. They were great BTW. Of course I was polite and after they explained the deal I explained why I was there. I very much knew the area was sketchy and later that evening when it was dark would be meeting friends at a comedy club. I was walking to find the best possible choices to leave the club as it would be after midnight when I left and situational awareness is very important. We were all laughing within a few minutes and had a nice and quick conversation. I asked about the location I was parked for safety-got the nod OK and thanked them for being there and on the lookout.

No, but was involved in a fender bender (no cops called). The other driver & I exchanged information. As I handed mine to him, I said, “Obviously, I’m a guy.” He said, “So what?”

I was pulled over while driving a semi. It was about 2 am and the state trooper was a really nice guy. He said he caught me at 72 in a 60 mph speed zone. When he saw I was dressed in a mini skirt with nylons, heels and a blouse he just smiled and told me to slow down, no ticket. I have to admit he was really cute in that uniform. Hugs, Allysa

Any experienced cop won’t be surprised and won’t give you any grief unless you’ve broken the law or he’s just a bully which unfortunately the profession attracts.

I know the thread is about being dressed and getting pulled over but I have a take from the other side.

For a few years I was a deputy sheriff in the Uniform Patrol Division many many years ago in another life. I was in contact with street walkers and such but of course could never reveal my inner girl. I thought some of their outfits were hot. I tried to always be fair and treated alt lifestyle people the same as anyone which I can say was not the case for some officers. It was a different time then.

I never pulled over a dressed CD but one day a partner and I went into a Dennys for lunch and there were about six or seven CD’s there in a group at a table all dressed up looking nice. The place was crowded and my partner didn’t notice them. I did right away and looked admiringly at each one except they didn’t know I admired them and probably thought I was going to give them grief. They had seen us when we walked in and all got very nervous and excited. We were the only cops in the place. My checking them out I’m sure really increased their anxiety but I was admiring their outfits and seeing how they were put together. You never know what someone is thinking.

We passed their table and sat down away from them. They kept peeking at us and was very nervous and excited talking among themselves and constantly looking our way. I felt so conflicted in that moment. I wanted to let them know in some way I was a sister but I knew it was impossible to do so. I felt so bad for them. If I had approached their table some probably would have fainted. Soon they quickly got up and went to the counter and each one paid as the group kept checking us out constantly, I assumed, to see if we were coming after them. I knew their fear. The last one out the door couldn’t get out fast enough. My partner never noticed them and I didn’t say anything. I wanted to talk to them so badly and if I had been in street clothes off duty I would have.

They probably remembered that incident for a long time but hopefully they gained more confidence in being out. I hope so.

BTW, I’ve never been pulled over while dressed.

      JJ,

Oh I have. One of the few times I have gone out as Jane, I went to the casino. I actually won $1400 the person who gave me my money asked questions like is this really your driver’s license. In my man voice, I said that it was, she went got my money and gave it to me. By that time, it was time for me to leave. I’m driving down the interstate, speed limit was 75, I was doing like 82, 83. Speeding but not to fast. Out of the middle of no where I see blue lights. Oh boy. Jane is out in public, and she getting stopped. How am I gonna explain this? I had on a houndstooth dress, I had one of my girlfriends do my makeup, so you know it was done right, and 3 and a half inch heels, which I was still learning how to walk and drive in. A female officer gets out, walks to my car, asks for drivers license, insurance, and proof of registration. I had all that ready for her, and she was like ma’am? I said, with all due respect officer, I am a crossdresser. I’m wearing heels I’m still learning to drive in. I’ve never had what happened next happen before. I need you to get out of the car. Now I’m about to freak out. All this for me speeding? She was like walk around for me. I started walking to the back of my car, turned around walked to the front of my car, walked around in a circle, wondering what was this all about, still having cars pass me on the interstate. Finally she said and I quote “Damn girl you got it going on.” Uhhhhh thank you. She said, “I didn’t mean to, but I’m willing to bet you have been humiliated enough. I just wanted to see how you looked in that dress. Slow it down a few mph’s. The next officer may not be so friendly. Have a nice night.” You too officer. I have never felt more awkward in my life. I have never had an experience like that before, and hope not to again.

I am glad all the stories have been positive, so far. My brother, my best friend, and several others are in/have been cops, so I am very familiar with the profession. As noted, most are great people, but it does attract some real jerks. I have known many racist, sexist, misogynistic cops who I can easily imagine being jerks in such a situation, just because they can. I am very happy to hear the positive responses. I wasn’t sure which way this thread was going to go.

I don’t know if my being dressed (or partly dressed sans wig) was a factor. He was completely professional and polite, as was I, so I suspect I got of light for that reason, and it had nothing to do with being dressed. If being dressed matter, I imagine I would have gotten the full ticket if he didn’t like my persona, or no ticket if he did, so the reason I got off light was that I was speeding, but not ridiculously so, and I really was well out of town and it was just a really a way to make money for the county.

      Not pulled over, but…

Early one morning my truck blew a tire, and a local officer pulled up behind me while I was waiting for the service truck to show up. He approached from the passenger side, opened the passenger door and climbed up….to see me in a skirt and colored tights.

The officer was 100% professional. He looked at my license & other paperwork, asked if I needed any assistance, and was on his way. If only all of our state troopers were so decent.

Once, I blew a tire near the state line, so I pulled off into the state weigh station (which was closed). The trooper inside directed me to the scale, pulled me in for a full inspection, then cited me for having a flat tire (the very reason I entered the weigh station in the first place). He was somewhat surprised when I jumped out of the truck in my dress…

Well I got pulled over last month. Just made a wrong turn and just kind of got turned around was about to put it into my gps where I wanted to go when I got blues behind me. He said he ran the registration and it didn’t come back. Standard excuse. Everything was in order and he ran my info and said carry on. But everything matches. Registration license etc all in my new name

    • #695779

I have had three instances where I was involved with them. First time I was dressed more like a office look. I locked my keys in the vehicle. I will never do that again I hope. A shop owner called them to help the poor woman. Their words. I was fairly new to being out and not very confident. They had to have proof of ownership. Oh well. They were polite and helpful.
Next time we left late and went out of town for a few drinks and a decent meal. The first couple of places were closed although their web page said they were open. My wife was giving directions on her phone and suddenly said turn here. I did but was pulled over for the sudden lane change. A lot of questions followed up by field sobriety tests. That might be spelled wrong? Anyway. As I was following his finger around with my eyes I was thinking. I hope my eyes look good. He then said I won’t ask you to walk with those heel and will not ask you to take them off. He said he could see no evidence of impairment but gave me a ticket for the lane change. I could have died. He did say have a good night ladies! And three nights ago I was pulled over for running a red light. I said I did not think I did and he gave me a verbal warning. Each time they were polite and professional. I was dreading walking that line but was sure I could do it in my heels. Glad he didn’t ask me to.

I got chased down and pulled over for speeding, I was in Clara mode. I was just cruising along minding my own business following the person in front of me, who would also of got done if they pulled him over.  I just told the police the honest truth while I was speeding, I had nothing to deny, they just went about their police duties, and issued me with a $504.00 fine.  No comments about my appearance, they thanked me for my honesty and also thinking of their safety when the pulled me over and I rolled back into the entry to a farmers paddock as I didn’t want to be a witness to one of them getting wiped out by some idiot coming of the dip in the road.  I just went on my merry way, I imagine they might of said something after I left them in the car as they would clearly noticed my male appearance in female attire.

Wasn’t pulled over but did go thru a license check. It was county sheriff and Georgia State Patrol doing the check. A really large trooper came to my window and asked for DL, registration and insurance proof. I handed him all the. papers and he walked back to look at my tag, reviewed the papers and walked back. He handed them to me and said “thank you and have a good day”. He was very professional and didn’t blink and eye. I was a nervous wreck driving up to the check stop and glad and glad all went well.

I had a funny experience once when I was Entering the Grand Canyon, North Gate. I was dressed as I usually am while traveling. As I pulled up to the Ranger Check point I saw it was a woman checking ids and collecting admission fees. As usual I had my Driver’s License and Park Pass out to hand to her. They have to match to be allowed in. She looks at the picture on my license and asks with a sort of smirk, “Where’s the guy on the license, is he in the back somewhere. I was clearly the only one in my SUV.

I paused a moment, looked away hen back at her and told her that was me. She looked at it again and then up at me, then back at the license. Would you like a map of the park ma’am.

I have been unlucky enough to be pulled over twice now.  My job requires a lot of travel an I always travel en-femme.  I have gotten really good at dressing in the back seat of a rental car….

First time being pulled over was for a blocked license plate.  I had just driven out of a snow storm in another state and the back end of my car was covered in snow.  I only got a warning and the officer was very courteous and even cleaned off the plate.  I wrote an article about that experience. https://www.crossdresserheaven.com/license-and-registration-please/  .

The second time was for speeding in a construction zone.  I had not noticed the change in speed but the state officer noticed me.  Again very courteous but I did get a ticket this time.

Liara, years ago a lady friend of my wife’s was telling a story about her cousin who is a law enforcement officer he had arrested a man dressed in women’s clothing for DUI she said this man said he was wearing his wife’s dress with full makeup the officer had no idea she was a he. Can you imagine the embarrassment calling your wife after be arrested in one of her dresses.      As I sat there listening to my wife and her girlfriend discuss the ordeal I thought to myself wow if the only knew I was a crossdresser.                                                                                                          I would love to hear more law enforcement CD interactions.

I can remember going to a persons house to notify them of something (don’t remember exactly what). She answered the door with her boyfriend standing next to her and as I looked them over I noticed his toenails were painted a bright red. He noticed me noticing his toes and looked a little embarrassed. I finished telling the gal what I had to say and said goodbye. When she closed the door I could hear the boyfriend talking frantically to her and could tell he was embarrassed.   If he only knew that I thought the color was pretty and I would have like to have my toenails painted too.

I want to see the dash  cam footage!  LMAO

    • #723836

I have with mixed results. The last time was for a minor violation and when I provided my ID, which still has my male information but the photo was recent minus makeup, he confirmed the person in the photo was me and complimented me on how well I presented as a woman. He politely asked if he could ask some questions about my story and we ended up chatting for several minutes. He let me go with a warning. He was older but still rather handsome. If I wasn’t in a relationship I might have tested his interest a little further.:)

Pulled over by a Georgia state trooper for speeding, and the experience was completely professional.  I was cross dressed in a dress and heels.

He addressed me as “ma’am” and confirmed I was the person in the photo on my driver’s license.  After a brief wait while he ran my information from his car, he returned, issued me a written warning, told me to slow down, and thanked me for my military service.  (Georgia driver’s licenses indicate the licensee’s military veteran status.)

Three times, first time I really burst into tears, it was honestly one of those days,!and they forgave the minor traffic offence. The second time i was parked in a shopping mall putting on make up when, well I guess they pulled up more accurately, and breathalyser me with a negative result. Admittedly I had been there for longer than usual but clearly they were intrigued. The third time I was pulled over for speed, but then taken to the station for a drug test with a negative result. I am starting to think there might be some misconception that if you are a cross dressers  you must be drunk or high, or maybe they just wanted my company.

Yes I was completely dressed and driving across Arkansas I was on I40 about an hour East of Little Rock. I was driving the speed limit with my cruise control on I picked up my phone to look at the maps and he pulled me over for texting, I got a warning but the big thing was he had me stand at the back of my car for almost 20 minutes while he checked something in his car, then he came back and said don’t text and drive again young lady. He preceded to talk to me about where I was going and how long I had been dressing, we talked for another 20 minutes

I did not get pulled over, but when I was at the stoplight, I was rear ended by another vehicle. So we had to wait for the police to show up and I was dressed, and it would be the first time that I exposed myself dressed to other people in such large capacity lol. So the guy was cool. His wife was cool but I was in the intersection at the light crosswalk when it happened and other people were looking at what happened. As I got out of my car I could see others looking at me and I just said to myself “well this sucks!”

I was wearing a blue Crochet Backless Halter Maxi Long Dress with an open back and flats. The police came and took a report and cited the driver of the other vehicle. At that time I had just recently started to dress and go out in public. Talk about the anxiety meter being pegged lol. This was years ago. I thought I handled it pretty good.

Hi JJ, thanks for the post. I have not been pulled over by the police but I remain hopeful 😋. I make trips to Calgary at least once a year and to  Vancouver several times a year and I’ve always thought it would be fun to get stopped by the RCMP. Really, I’d just like to see the look on their faces when I give them my drivers license.

      Trish ❤️
