Heavenly Windows
Her eyes like heavenly windows, without guilt or guile,
Her name is a smile but not like any other smile
A shining spotlight that warms the room of my heart,
A body glowing like a spirit with luminous poise
With substance like that of a celestial work of art.
Her mouth drops words like blissful bombs of joyous noise
Which overload my head and heart with bubbling glee.
How can her walk be so entirely enchanting to me?
She is seven sparklers on a holiday summer’s eve
Sizzling my ears and lighting the wells of my tears
A downy peach, almost fully ripe, who tempts my troth
If but touched, she would fall delicately into my hand.
Yet, she must never be touched lest her natural growth
Be stunted and her sweetness lost forever to this land.
