I was in exactly your position a little over three months ago. Prior to July 1st, I’d never told anyone that I cross dress. Not friends, not family. The only living things that knew were my cats* 🙂
Because of that, signing up felt like a huge step. It was like suddenly shouting out ‘Hey … I’m Ellie! This is who I really am!’.
I dithered and dithered about it. I paced around the room. I switched the computer off and went for a shower. I logged on again. I picked up a cat and cuddled it. It looked confused. I put it down again.
Then I finally pressed the button.
Honestly? It was one of the best things I’ve ever done.
This is a wonderful, supportive community. I immediately felt like I belonged. And I’ve loved every minute of my time here since then.
I know that you’ll have the same experience 🙂

PS. My cats are called Bramble and Gatsby. Currently, they’re my Significant Others. For the record, they’ve always been tremendously accepting and supportive.

Bramble is out catching voles at the moment, but I passed your message on to Gatsby. He was flat out in front of the wood burner at the time, and barely looked up, but he DID make a little ‘chirrup’ noise. I interpreted that as a hearty and unconditional welcome to our sisterhood.
He doesn’t just chirrup for everyone, you know.

I’m a mature crossdresser I’ve been dressing most of my life since i was about 8 or 9 years old when i tried my older sister’s lingerie on, I’m still in the closet to my family,
I’m sorry i can’t meet up with you for a coffee I’m on the other side of the pond in the UK, I’m sure there are lots of girls near to where you live who will be happy to meet up with you for a coffee and a chat, I’m sure you will find lots of friends on here so if you have any questions just ask and the girls will get back to you, there are lots of girls on here from beginner’s to full time girls who dress 24/7 we don’t judge anyone on here it’s a safe place for everyone X

Admitting that you enjoy crossdressing is the first step to acceptance. We’ve all been there. Lifting the weight of denial frees us to discover who we really are.
I admitted it to myself 8 years ago after decades of struggle. Good thing too. I was in a very dark place. I got into therapy and found CDH somewhere along the way. Those 2 actions transformed my life. What I have now looks nothing like the future I was facing.
You’re in the right place. CDH is a safe and supportive space. The sisters here are amazing. Jump in. You’ll be glad you did!

Hello Gail good for admitting you like to crossdress a huge step in being yourself I would like to welcome to CDH I am glad you have shared a part of who you are. Having found us you have made the step to become part of a family that is welcoming, understanding, compassionate, and supportive. While we are all similar and have many of the same desires we all differ on our goals or levels of closeted dressing or underdressing or public expression and or personal experiences. I encourage you to explore the many forums, topics, polls and member biographies found here as there are a wide range of members all over the spectrum of feminine expression from differing levels of crossdressing to those on the path to transition and those that have. There are also links to websites that have products and services that may help you on your own personal path of self acceptance and expression. Ultimately it is a place, home, or space were you can feel feel comfortable and confident in who you are that you are not alone and this is a place where you can feel safe to express and share part of yourself as being who you truly are as your authentic self of you being a man, a woman, a man who dresses as a woman, if it makes you a better complete human being expressing your feminine desires feelings and or qualities. I am happy you are here and have made a choice to accept this part of yourself as self acceptance is the most important thing you can do for yourself and others. You can’t expect others to accept you if you don’t accept yourself all of you. For some it means remaining private for some telling a select few ultimately you have to do whats best for your own situation and you ultimately know best. I appreciate you are sharing a part of your authentic self here on CDH it ultimately lifts some of the burden that you may be feeling which many of us have carried for what seems like a lifetime you are not alone. Being here helps not only yourself but helps others gain acceptance and confidence in themselves. I am happy you have made the step to be here. Welcome!
