My wife buys most of my his male clothes for him.  I just don’t have any interest in doing it myself.  Now shopping for feminine things…. that’s different.

Anyway she bought me him a blue/red lumberjack shirt. You know, the thick and heavy kind perfect for cooler weather.   She could only get it in a medium, and its a bit too tight buttoned up (it accentuates his beer belly too much.) So I make him wear it over a T-shirt, unbuttoned like a light jacket.

“I think I’ll get something similar” she said, “For walking the dog in the autumn.”

So she did, a somewhat feminised version it’s true, and modelled it for me, wearing her jeans and trainers. “What do you think?”

What do I think?  I think how come she can wear that outfit in public, in front of me, when I can’t wear a blouse and skirt except in secret or when I am on my own?

So I had to give the expected answer :-

“It looks very nice dear, it suits you. Goes well with (gritted teeth) your jeans.”  And I meant it of course, and it did get me some brownie points (which I’m adding up.)

This is what it is like for a lot of us, I guess. Such is life….

The irony of that that song was way ahead of its time.
It’s socially acceptable for women to wear men’s clothes, but not for men to wear female clothes.
Never judge a book by its cover, behind that lumberjack is a feminine me, I am not different person, just a person with a personal preference to how I want to dress and be accepted.
All together “I’m a lumberjack and I’m okay”
      Cracking book title.

I wish I was a girly just like my dear papa. Love that skit but your right, life is full off double standards.

I had a dear friend who said “ Fair is a place to go see animals and eat cotton candy. It has nothing to do with life.” I feel he was right. I have a very similar situation in my house. My wife knows about Emily, but doesn’t approve of her, want to talk about her, or meet her. But, she frequently asks for fashion advice for herself. SMH

      It’s official now.

If you’re a lumberjack and you’re OK, you must put on women’s clothing and hang around in bars.

      It’s the rule.

      Love Laura

If more guys opened up about wearing more fem things it would become more mainstream.  I know it won’t be widely accepted  anytime soon but in noticing a shift in the general public being more ok with it.   Thats how it all started with the ladies…. a few wore pants then more and more.  Now its uncommon  for women to dress in a dress. 👗

I was just singing this song to myself yesterday. I sleep all night and I work all day. Ain’t it the truth?

      Hi Stephanie

Your self control is admirable…i have noticed that whenever I HAVE to go to a men’s shop to buy the odd item of drab I need, it’s usually packed with women…..perhaps they are all buying for their disenchanted husband’s….grace xx
