Layers

Look from the outside, and you will see

A person so proud, of who they want to be

Such time and effort, to bring it together

With fear and scrutiny, we know we must weather

The layers I show, and want to display

Are only cover, for deeper dismay

Fabrics of silk, satin and lace

That cover a filling, with no real place

Let us be who we are, and wear what we show

To display our inner beauty, where ever we go

Look under the layers, and you will see

That beautiful gurl, we all want to be
