This morning I was giving my granddaughter a ride while she was singing ‘Let It Go’ from Frozen. Suddenly it hit me this hits close to what I am going through right now. I am on the verge of letting Cassie out 24/7 (let it go).
I couldn’t keep her in, Don’t let them see(let it go).
Be the boy you have to be (let it go).
Conceal, don’t feel,Don’t let them know (let it go).
Well, now they know (or suspect?) (let it go).
Can’t hold it back anymore (let it go).
It’s time to see what I can do

Angela, thank you so much. Need all the encouragement possible. Seems like every step I make on this CD/TG journey the further I want/need to go. Right now I think I will wait to talk with my therapist so I don’t make a huge mess of what is already a messy life. Cassie is becoming such a HUGE part of me I just want to see.

Disney and Pixar movies and have been really big on the “just be who you are” message. I used to roll my eyes and cynically think, “yeah, right – that doesn’t happen when it comes to gender non-conformists!” Not to give the Mouse too much credit, but perhaps this a part of why younger generations are just so much cooler about accepting of LGBTQ+ folks! I know my kids sure are.
