As I sit here in a pair of sexy black Vanity Fair lave nouveau nylon panties stimulating me mentally and physically underneath my drab clothes for work (I love that pulled in tight feeling of panties and bras too) I was thinking today about my past. Despite all the proliferation of online porn and other available visual options, I miss the old catalogues. I used to spend hours drooling over the old Sears and JC Penney and Montgomery Ward catalogues.

Not only for the super stimulating lingerie, pantyhose, nylon stockings, girdles and high heels, but also the glamorous girls and all their fashions displayed for me before I had the world at my laptop. It was such a simpler time and really molded me as I wondered what it would be like not only to wear the wonderful clothes, but to be those girls too. I miss the 60’s and 70’s styles as in Madmen when women really knew how to dress to impress and please in such a seductive way.

      Do others share my thoughts?

I grew up in the 80s and those catalogs were always hiding in my room. I felt lucky my mom got the fredricks of Hollywood and Victoria secret catalogs. I gazed at these women every night growing up. Thats still what I find sexy. Funny thing 20 years later my dad remodeled my old room and got rid of my dresser and pulled out the bottom drawer out and found all those catalogs, notes from the principal and go figure a few pairs of womens panties. We all had a good laugh then I asked what he did with it all 😄 it all went in the trash.

Sad the GGS have abandoned hosiery.

Those three catalogs, Sears, JC Penney, & Montgomery Ward were training manuals for boys, in the 50s/60s.

While my male friends drooled over and make obscene comments about the scantily-clad pretty models, I looked at the models and fantasized being dressed like they were.

The Sears catalog was my main source for obtaining female clothing, via mail order.  All Sears mail orders went to Atlanta, Georgia for fulfillment.  I now live in Atlanta, and every time I drive past the old building that used to be the Sears mail order center, my memories flash back to being a young boy in the 50s & 60s.  One wonders how many CD orders passed through that building?

Totally, you hit the nail right on the head!  I remember those days with great fondness too.

Reading your post, it brings back fond memories too.

Growing up, I remember the Sears catalogue, and I remember flipping by the women’s section and looking at the beautiful girls in there, especially the shapewear section.  Not sure why I was so drawn to girls dressed in shapewear only, especially the bodysuits.

I also remember I had to sneak the catalogue in private to view the pics, as I thought I would get into trouble looking at girl’s clothes in a catalogue.  So when family members were around, I would look at the toy section in the catalogue, but when no one was around I would take quick looks at the women’s section.

Absolutely,  all those catalogs certainly brought memories of how woman truly did dress.  I found it fascinating seeing woman dressing so elegant, so feminine and made me dream about what they were wearing and how it would look like on me.  Online just doesn’t feel the same as the catalogs did.  Maybe because back when I was in my early teens it reflected so strongly on me and likely planted the seeds that where I’m at today…🌷

Wow, that’s so familiar! My experience exactly. I loved looking at the bras. What a little perv I was! Hee hee.

I was a teen in the early 80s. Oh the memories… Sears catalogue…one finger in the outdoors section so I could flip away quickly from the lingerie. I spent a lot of time there… looking at the gorgeous ladies in  Merry Widows, teddies, nighties, slips, panties and bras….wishing I could be them, and that I had some money to buy my own. What happened to teddies and Merry Widows?? The days of exquisite satin and silk are gone I guess

I, too, have fond memories of the catalogs everyone has mentioned. It was great to eagerly await the new spring & summer catalogs, not only for the lingerie, but for swimsuits, as well. My love of women’s swimwear would require a whole new post. Then came the fall & winter catalogs. Elegant lingerie, hosiery and wool skirts. So nice. The Christmas catalogs were great, too. The elegant lingerie for those “special” evenings was really special to behold.

A smile has definitely come across my face as I sit here just in a pink bra and matching nylon pink hipster panty. I remember so fondly gazing and wishing I could wear everything the models were wearing. The touch and feel of the page has not been equaled by the cold, soulless feel of a laptop and tablet.

One last thought…If Sears would’ve had the foresight to better see the future, there wouldn’t be such a thing as Amazon. They had their huge customer data base, readily available credit, distribution, catalog that could’ve easily been morphed to online and their brick & mortar stores. But, they lacked the foresight.

Now where do I go online for some new panties?

You’re not a pervert Tabitha, you’re a connoisseur of fine lingerie, just like me.

Laurel I grew up in the 50’s I call it now the golden age of lingerie, At fourteen my crossdressing journey started and is still going strong at eighty one, It seams to increase as you get older. Yes I loved those frilly lacy panties and those fantastic petticoats as well as poodle skirts and those beautiful dresses and nighties. Those were the days, I hope some day those fashions come back. And like you I enjoyed those catalogs and newspaper adds I think all of the boys did but, will not admit it.
