there is a troll who is spamming the site in a way that’s hard for us to trace.
she repeatedly sends multiple private messages out, requesting people to email her.
we highly recommend that you don’t reply to these messages or send an email to that address. the ONLY way she can get your email address is if you give it to her.
we have no idea what intent this person has, but we do know that she is targeting our members, and we’re trying to stop that.
no person should give you their email without agreement, nor request yours.
this is a flag that something is amiss.
We always recommend that you do not share anything personally identifiable (email, twitter, phone number, etc) to any person you do not know.
we ask that you ignore any such message and report it to the staff.
Thank you,
BillieJay

I just wish they would meet the same fate they did in the fairy tales… 🤨

Hi all,
I’d like to bump this. I’m not saying never ever pass on your email address, but never do it in a situation like the one described here. Be very very sure about what you are doing. It sounds like a phishing expedition. I have a few friends on here that have my ‘throw away’ email for very specific reasons. But I’m still very cautious.
The bottom line is it’s a lot easier to release your email address to other online entities than it is to clear up the damage that might result from doing it. Sad to say, there’s some dodgy people out there.

not to beat a dead horse any more than I already have (too late) but one of our members DID email her back and is getting spammed with messages for an international money laundering scheme…
so, to make it plain…
if you do contact someone using an off-site means of communication (email, twitter, phone number, etc) we can do nothing about this, and we (the site and staff) are not responsible for what can occur.
we are only here to moderate THIS SITE.
please do not give those things out to anyone you do not know and trust. it happens too often, and there’s nothing I or the staff can do about it.
