I always wear underwired bras. Its important to find your right size. There’s a lot of trial and error but I’ve found my right size (42D, UK) and my bras are sooo comfy! Most women apparently wear the wrong size bra so we’re not alone trying to find comfortable underwear that looks good on.

I see that nobody mentions the comfort choice brand of bra’s. I too have tried many bras  and found that comfort choice is my go to bra. I have their side wire lace bras, petal boost under wire bras and soft cup tee shirt bras in lots of colors. Love them all and they fit well. Given a try Ladys

I’ve seen then on Woman Within, but they are short on cup size…

I have always felt that if you are wearing breast forms an underwire bra is best.

Soft cups are OK if you have some natural tissue, eg, I’d be lucky to go a AA, but I still wear one under my drab when I can.

I have to agree about the Glamorise bras.  They are pretty, and look good on the models, so I ordered one in 48B, which fits almost perfect in many other brands.  What I got was actually a 48, but the cup definitely not a B.  It was too high through the top of the cup and too wide at the bottom.

I find the Rago bra’s much more comfortable and sized right.  Snug but not digging in at any point and they do not slip at all, either their long-line style, or regular ones.

My best guess would be that they were different brands; but bra fitting is an art, not a science.  My measurements make me an A cup; I do have something upstairs, but IBTC.  however, only B-cup bras fit, and only some styles and brands.  I’ve tossed lots of bras before finding what works.

      Hugs,

      Bettylou

Glamorise never worked for me either DeeAnn but Playtex is a really good bra.

While I still wear my Playtex bras sometimes, the basic problem is that the cups are a couple of sizes short such. That forces the center panel to not sit on the sternum as it should…

Thanks for sharing this. You are so lucky to have a supportive spouse. Also, you are lucky to have the ability to communicate so openly. Finding a bra that looks and feels right can be a challenge. It like the old saying “ if the shoe fits, buy them in every color” . Same goes for bras.

Try using your true measurement Carrisa some say add 4 or 5 inches but I don’t. I like to be snug (not tight)

It can also be manufacturer dependent. I used to wear Playtex 18-Hour bras and now Goddess in a couple of styles. For the same size (38) the Playtex and Goddess both require a bit of a tug to close to the 1st hook. I have a few Glamorise (which I won’t buy again) and even on the 2nd hook it is not as snug as the Playtex or Goddess. The Glamorise construction doesn’t seem anywhere near as robust as the others…

Your wife nailed the issue.  We have wider rib cages than GGs, so our boobs ARE farther apart…and it contributes a lot to the problem of finding a bra which fits correctly.  (Going up one cup size seems to help).

Hi Bettylou, I agree but they were the same size. First one was a soft D cup but the one she gave me was an under wire D cup, go figure lol…………..hugs
