My Turn Girls,
First of all, I roared at Holly Marie’s comment regarding the ‘partridge and pear tree’….LOL.
Nevertheless, I swallowed hard and decided to take inventory. Personally, it blew me away that I own 18 pairs. I must admit it was a ‘Yikes!’ for me. Shortly afterward, I rationalized the thought and the expense and said to myself, ‘Well, did you get your money’s worth”?. Ladies, I must confess that I never get excited when I wear my ‘testosterone ladened work boots” to mow the lawn, or my men’s dress shoes to head to chapel. But I always get a thrill to ‘speak to’ and wear ‘my old friends’. They, too, have literally and figuratively ‘traveled the road we girls walk everyday’.
Today, I can better understand the length one will go and sometimes the ‘pain’ one will endure in order to wear a pair of shoes you fall in love with.
Has anyone resorted to lining the ‘inside toe region’ of their shoe with a plastic bag filled with water and placing the shoe in the freezer? Can anyone out there say ‘bunion’? ….OUCH!….Nevertheless, this method has often widened the shoe for me.
As far as favorites, when I’m all dolled up, and feeling brave, there is nothing more sexier than a pair of ‘thigh high, over the knee’ boots. I own a beige 4 inch stiletto boot and gray 3 1/2 inch block. I better manage with the block heel boot. Last year, I bought a pair of 3 1/2 inch heel Mary Jane’s and have never worn them out. When I conducted my inventory, they were crying out to me, ‘Don’t you love me anymore’. Guess who’s being worn on my next ‘go out’?….LOL.

Yes. Two words of caution when doing this, though. Use a strong, sealed plastic bag. It takes time to freeze the water. If you are still closeted, don’t forget that you left them in the freezer.

64 in clear display boxes. 3 scattered on the floor right now. Maybe 7 or 8 more in the closet. These are actually my wife’s but she and I are the same size and she lets me wear any of them that I want. So I don’t actually own any women’s shoes of my own. Helps to have a totally understanding wife who is your size! :)

Oh yes – I couldn’t agree more! I love thigh boots too but haven’t been able to find any suitable ones (my finances are sadly limiting) to replace the two pairs I got rid of in a lockdown-induced mini purge. I have a couple of pairs of OTK boots currently but none that are actually thigh-length. Oh well.
Having said that, I just totted up that I have 28 pairs of heels and boots – mostly sourced via charity shops and online at Ebay and vinted. I must admit to being slightly surprised and shocked that I have managed to accumulate so many. Prior to coming out to the gf I had four pairs of shoes and 3 pairs of boots. Still looking for that perfect pair of boots though lol

I got my first pair of women’s shoes about a month ago. I have not worn them yet beyond trying them on.

I am so envious of you women. I’m a solid size 13 and would absolutely love to find a store that carried my size. I’ve ordered online, but would prefer to try them on, touch and feel them before I purchase them.

Up to the date count, 14 pairs of high heels, 2 pairs of wedge heeled sandals, a pair of high heel booties, 10 pairs of (cute and feminine) Birkenstock sandals (some I wear out and about in male mode), and one pair of vintage jelly sandals from the 80s/90s
I don’t even want to think of how many pairs I have purged in the last 30 years… although for the last 12 i have become pretty adept at selling the good condition pairs on Poshmark.

At last count, a little over 100 pairs of shoes. A couple times a year I take a serious look at what I have not worn in a long time and donate them to Goodwill.
My wife probably has over 200 pairs of shoes.

Between my heels and my male mode shoes I have less than 10 pairs of shoes lol.. and that’s even counting my ice skates and my snowboard boots! I just don’t like to have too much stuff

I learned about DSW a couple of months ago. They have a huge mall location too far from me, but I have a smaller, local The Shoe Company nearby. They are sister companies.

Once you find your size and places that carry it, it is hard not to buy more. I have somewhere between 40 and 50 pairs of shoes. Heels , flats, sandals, boots, and slippers, they all have their place. My wife once noticed just how many pairs I have and told me I have more than her. My reply was: you need to go shopping! Lol.

Not far behind you at 160 pairs and and still adding to the collection. All but 1 pair are 6″-8″ and even have a pair of 10″ heels from Pleaser.

You must have an easy to fit size. I find it difficult to find stores with anything in stock above size 9-10.

Depending on brand and style size 10 or 11. JustFab, Steve Madden, Vince Camuto are a couple brands I can fit size 10 comfortably. Most others I size up to 11. For me, I find open toe heels more generous fitting than closed toe heels and boots.

I have to try on shoes to make sure that they don’t irritate a pinched nerve. Based on my experience in retail stores, most shoes ordered on-line would have to be returned.

Until maybe about 10 years ago I wore size 10 shoes. I had a three, almost four years hiatus and back from it I couldn’t wear size 10, so been a size 11 since that time.

I have 7 pairs at the moment – 2 pair of open toe block heels (4″ and 2″), 2 pair of sandals, 1 pair of flats, one pair of ankle boots with 2″ heel and a pair of pumps.

Not even close to Imelda, Carole lol. And Gloria Renee- you need to have more categories to select from( like 50-100, 101-200, etc. )! For myself – I lost count a while back but best estimate is 500-550 pairs of shoes in Narnia! (Size 11 btw and of those there’s probably a main set of 25-30 that I mostly wear.) So i chose “21+” LOL

I counted the three pair of the same lavender color sneakers as one since they’re meant to succeed each other as they wear out. I’m selling off heels my knees will never tolerate but fifteen pair is about right just now.

Unless I missed something, there should be nine pairs of various shoes, not just heels. No boots yet.
Plus, I don’t plan on getting more, for now, until I work in the ones that I already have which are still uncomfortable. There’s not much sense spending more money on something that hurts or causes blisters.

My entire femme wardrobe is pretty limited, including shoes of which I have five pair. It is easy to get caught up in the whole shopping thing, so I make a real effort not to get too carried away. That said, I do have too many bras.
