I typically only wear pantyhose with a skirt or dress. Rarely under slacks. Partly that is because I have always had difficulty with them staying up. It usually isn’t all that long before I feel the crotch getting lower, and lower. I recently bought a pair of Spanx pantyhose and can’t say enough good things about them. They fit well and they stay put. I bought a pair of black tights and they are opaque enough to pass for socks so I can wear them under my women’s slacks at work without notice. They are a little pricy but well worth it in my opinion. I have worn these tights several times and they are wearing very well.

Hi Adeline, I always wear opaque tights (pantyhose) when I underdress at work. My favourite tights at the moment are black 100 denier opaque, although I absolutely love navy tights! Opaques are gorgeous to wear! Helen.

Hi Adeline, I find the cheaper tights (pantyhose) from supermarkets in particular stretch very easy and so don’t fit very well. I haven’t had a problem with better quality tights though. I have just purchased some dance tights (also sold as ballet tights) they are 60 denier and are very strong, not a bad price either when purchased on line, might be worth a try.

Hi Andrea, I’ve found Marks & Spencer tights to be some of the best I’ve worn although Sainsburys TU tights are usually a good fit. Helen.

Hi Helen, to be honest I have never tried M&S tights, I’ll have a look next time I get a chance. I do like John Lewis tights though and can recommend them, they are very good.

Hi Andrea, I’ll have a look at John Lewis. If you do go to M & S let me know what you think. I love their hold-ups, they have gorgeous lace tops. Helen.
