Peacocks/Peahens…
It is the ‘male’ (Peacock) that has the pretty vibrant plumage colors and long trains to attract a mate… while the female (Peahen) has the ‘drab’ colors, brown/grey/cream… and no train.
Also… interesting to note, it’s the ‘female ‘ that will display aggressiveness and fight other Peahens for the best male of the species.
This is totally opposite of the majority of us humans. We can learn a thing or two from nature!!!
Gen… ❤

We may be closer to that than you think; I once did have two girls get in a cat fight over me – and it was embarrassing! On a lighter note, it was my wife who proposed to me, 57 years ago, this month. I commend her for her brilliance (and my good luck).
Hugs,

She was in San Antonio and I was in Houston. And the wedding was held in our church in Corpus Christi.

That would be OK with me if we could get society to let the man be pretty and dress and let the girls fight over us.LOl
I like your thinking sweetie.

They have to be bright and colourful because the females are so bloody choosy. They initially go on appearances only and get the males to prance about looking ridiculous and making fools of themselves. And then …. the females expect them to fight over her! Last bird standing gets the bird. Lol.
Thank goodness we are not like birds……..

The majority of British birds are the same…bland females and colourful males…….
I wonder if male birds get into as much trouble as we do for looking pretier than the females
Smiles, grace ❤️

No… no… look how many ‘men’ fight and maim/kill each other to prove their ‘right’ to the female! OK, the female of our species is bloody deadly and wears all the great plumage to attract these silly would be killers just so the female (and her brood) can be ‘protected’. There is a reason why us Sisters refer to maleness as drab.
Just think of lions though… the powerful and gorgeous male will kill and eat the females brood by other males. That is a common denominator amoungst us.
xx Polly
