    Hello GG’s

For those of you that do… I’m just curious as to your top 3 reasons for wearing makeup.

No, I’m not a dufus… I know the reasons why ‘we’ wear makeup, I’d just like to know ‘your’ top 3 reasons.

Edit: when I have enough responses, I’ll tell you why I ask… 🙂

    Love,

    Gen ❤

I asked my wife about the reason(s) why she wore makeup, skirts/dresses and bling when she was younger (teens and 20something)… I asked if she wore those things to attract men, or… did she do it for herself… self gratification. She said she wore those things to please herself…. Why then, would this not be the case also for us GB’s who like to dress ???

      Self Gratification… 🙂👍

      Have a great weekend !!!

Okay… so we have enough replies now…

The reason that I ask this question is to see if anyone had a reply of… ‘To attract the attention of men’… Not one of us replied with that answer.

This thread is a bit of a sister thread to ‘Are You Gay’. This thread prooves to me that CD/TG and GG’s don’t wear makeup and clothing desined for the GG demographic to ‘attract GB’S’… but rather to make us feel good about ourselves and to feel feminine/pretty.

So you see… we are not gay (most). We dress and wear makeup to satisfy a personal emotional need…

      Love,

      Gen ❤

        Dear Genevieve,

You posted in the forum, Dear GG’s, where I’m to understand that reply’s should be from GG’s. However most replies on this topic were from CD’s. In one respect, your experiment succeeded in that the CD replies did not mention luring men.

However, in my younger years, makeup and clothing choices were to look my best to available men. Now, I’m 64 yo and married. Make up and clothing is to look good to the GG’s biggest critic, other women. The occasional attention from men is appreciated, done tastefully. I still got it, baby!

        Hugs, Eileen

New to the group. I’ll answer.  I’ve gone thru many phases of make up wearing on my 61 years.  In my youth it was to feel pretty and attract men.  There was also a time that it was to attract girls 😉. Middle life it was career based… Needed to look good in a professional job, not like I just rolled out of bed.  By then the “fresh face advantage” was over 😂. Now I barely wear it but when I do it makes me feel put together, a little younger and like I give a damn.  Covid has impacted the frequency.  I do still have a drawer full of beautiful products.

I’m not one who wears more than minimum make up on a daily basis. Covering up skin imperfections and enhancing the eye areas. The objective is to look good without make up, even when wearing some.

Of course, special occasions require more attention. Just like you gals, make up makes us GG’s feel more feminine.

I guess that after all these years, wearing some face is as natural as guys carrying a pocket knife.

        Hugs, Eileen
