      Hello Friends,

I am considering this summer to take a few days out and visit Saskatchewan. I haven’t been in that Province for many years and would like to experience the breathtaking flat landscape again… No mountains of trees to get in the way of the view.

I am going to make the journey as Aurora without a bale-out kit. Once I set off from home I will be committed to complete the journey as female.

Can any of you ladies give me any information on the general tolerance level for CDs in Saskatchewan?

I am considering Lloydminster and Regina, plus a few other of the bigger centres to stay overnight.

      Many thanks for any advice.

      Hugs,

      Aurora Eden

Hi Aurora, you are certainly in for a flat ride. I have been to both Regina and Saskatoon for conferences. In Regina, I was downtown and all I remember is being told not to venture more than 4 blocks away. Saskatoon was a more friendly city. The Quapelle region is a nice drive, you may want to check for some country music festivals. Pack you jeans, cowgirl boots and a hat to go with it. Be careful.

        Hi Denise,

        Thanks for your input.

It will be another big step for me to venture so far. I do not plan on stopping in any of the small towns.

I don’t plan on wandering far in the evening either.

      Hi Aurora

i have lived in Saskatchewan all my life and your safest bet is in Saskatoon in term of personal safety.  There are groups pushing gender issues in the cities but there are many strongly opposed.  I do not feel safe en femme anywhere so I remain a daily under dresser.
There are many like me here hoping for better days ahead.

        Thanks Ria,

I don’t plan to venture far from my hotels in the evenings. I will be staying at good hotels though rather then the strip motels. Just have to play it by ear I think.

I think that is wise. While many people are accepting there are those who do not and there is a faction that would put you in peril.

I haven’t been to Saskatchewan since 1978! What I remember are the river valleys, kinda like mountains in reverse. Very scenic!

When I drove through that year from Vancouver to Toronto, I just had to get a femme fix, so I went to The Bay or Simpsons in Regina, can’t quite remember. I got 4 pairs of nylons and a couple of flowery slips. The cashier was not much older than me and drop-dead gorgeous. She started ringing me out then looked at me. I had very long hair, halfway down my back. She paused and said, “I’ll have to speak to my manager.” So I said, “Why? Isn’t my money any good?” She cashed me out with a smile!

      Good luck, Aurora!

        Thanks Barb,

A long time ago I spent some time at sea. The landscape in Saskatchewan reminds me of a flat calm sea, especially at sunrise and sunset.

I live next door in western Manitoba, Brandon to be precise.  Haven’t heard of any bad stories, maybe it’s because it just doesn’t hit the news.  I walk around as a male in female clothes, but in clothes that really don’t scream female.  I think most people will just continue with their lives and really not make a fuss.
