      hi ladies!

recently, I’ve been thinking about having my ears pierced a lot… I’d love to be able to wear some of the gorgeous earrings out there and I hate the clip on ones…

my problem is…. Traditionally, that’s pretty unlike guy me. I’ve thought about doing one at a time over a few months maybe. I’ve thought about just having 3 done at a time and claiming mid-life crisis. I’ve thought over the options!

Im just wondering if any of you girls have been through this, I’m sure some of you have :), how did you go about it and how did it pan out?!

looking forward to the replies! 🙂

      Chloe,
Great topic …. I too am anxious to receive suggestions on this topic … Although clip ons are hard to find … I have some really stylish ones and do the trick to make me feel girly..

        Hi Leonara and others,

I read that there are conversions to allow pierced ear rings to be clip ons yet they do not look like clip on.

I  might try that in order to have more selections. Until I decide, lol.

Hi Chloe   I just had mine done 4 weeks ago. Always wanted to get them done but always chickened out.. So far anyone that has asked about it, including one of my boys, I just say I wanted to do it for a long time.  And nothing more has been said .  Personally I don’t GAF what people think anymore. It’s painless process so nothing to hold you back other than you.  Good luck   Mikayla

      Chloe,

I don’t know if you already did this or not, hope you still read this thread. I got an e-mail for this thread just tonight…sooo…

I too have been thinking of getting both ears pierced. Just too chicken for all the usual reasons.

I just dislike clip ons. They hurt, they fall off, they leave a long lasting mark.

l guess we shall see if I go through with it.

Hi Cloe i had 1 done  before i found my girly side, I remember the second one well . I had broken my ankle so had a few weeks at homes so with the help of half a potatoe and a needle i did the other. By the time i was back at work i had swapped them round and only 1 of my workmates commented i thought you had the earring in the other ear i said well they are both peirced so i swap them around from time to time and it was never mentioned again That was me sorted 2 nice ears for my girly side ,So go for it young lady.I also have had my bellybutton done twice but they have both migrated but i will be doing it again.I put the migration down to my gym work ,but will find a balance.Py

Ladies just get your ears pierced, why worry about what anyone says, it’s your ears and you want them pierced, what is the worse someone can say? They will only say it once and that will be the end of it.

I got mine pierced at age 58, my wife hated them and was not happy but I said I wanted them.  My wife won’t let me wear rings or hoops just stud in drab mode.  It was just before Xmas that I had my ears pierced and at my work departmental Xmas lunch I was given a pair of Chritmas tree earrings as a joke so I just put them in and wore them the whole afternoon.  My earrings were never mentioned again.

My wife hates pierced nipples, belly buttons and noses but I would like them all. Two weeks ago I pierced my own nipples and then fitted some gold rings. My wife then noticed the rings under my shirt and went mad, wanted them removed, I said no I would not remove them, that was 5 days ago and they have not been mentioned.  Although see has not seen them since as I normally go to work early and wear a nightdress to bed so they are covered up.

So the moral to this story is just do it as even the most opposed person will get used to it and no one else really cares.

Chloe why 3? Is that all in the same ear or two in one and a single in the other like Lewis Hamilton?

Samantha I would not remove your piercing for the first 6 weeks as you will have trouble reinserting them and it will be quite painful, they are more likely to get infected if you keep removing them.

If you are really worried about work etc then the best time to have them done is just before a holiday two to three weeks is a good start for them healing.  Get some clear or nude retainers that you could fit in for work after the two week holiday.

On the subject of men’s earrings, in the UK you can get Football club earrings the main High Street jewellers like F.Hinds do them, that is if you are into football.

If you want to shock just say you are getting them pierced so you can gauge them up to big discs.

Chloe lets us know when you have them done and what comments you get, positive and negative.

      Good luck girl.

I’m leaning more towards this happening . In the pass year I’ve started growing out my hair and now has reached  a decent length. Well over my ears so it’s very possible that soon it will come.  As for my wife she’s mentioned that if you want do it so with that it’s not if but when. Same as my brows  , slowly  been trimming , changing them  over time but ever  so slightly and no one has said anything or just haven’t noticed . After writing this I’m now thinking more about just doing it. For us we need all the details in our a appearance  to better ourselves so as mentioned from others ,I don’t care what others think other than my wife  mined you so as she tells me, if your happy and don’t care about others then do it . 🌹

Hi Chloe and all you other Ladies

Here’s my opinion. Take a deep breath and go for it. You won’t regret it. I did both ears  first and about 6 months later I did my belly button. Sooooo glad I did them. When you do it it’s such a rush. After that anytime you put on earrings you will feel so sexy and feminine. And a  belly button piercing intensifies that sexy feeling.  When you get your ears pierced they put the barbell earrings in which, are pretty masculine so you can just claim midlife crisis or like I told my family I always wanted to. They didn’t dwell on it or anything. (though they don’t know about the BB piercing)

I hope you go for it Chloe. Believe me it will not be as big a deal with your family and friends as you think. After the initial why it won’t even be mentioned, talked or thought of .

thankyou so much for all the replies! You’ve all exceeded my expectations and I’m a very happy girl 🙂

I’m pleased to report that I just Bloody went and did it. I love them. They’re small and indiscreet, but apart from that, I can’t wait for them to heal to get some girly earrings in there. I have no regrets and I’m very happy!

      Good morning ladies!

Just a wee ear piercing update for you all…

i saw my housemate last night for the first time since I had my piercings done. He’s been away for a few days. I’ve lived with this guy for 5 years, we’ve known each other for over 10. He doesn’t know about girl me but it’s safe to say we know each other pretty well.

We watched a few movies. Had a few smoke breaks. Hung out for about 4 hours.

He. Didn’t. Even. Notice. Lol! I’m kind of amazed. I know he’d have said something if he’d noticed but he didn’t.

Just goes to show that the only barrier is yourselves girls. If I can do it, any of you can! They’re your ears after all 🙂 I heartily recommend it. I love them ❤️

i hope this post is encouraging and helps a few of you achieve your ear-piercing goals.

Have a lovey weekend all! Chloe xxx

Yes I have been through it.  I needed to stay in the closet so I went about by going to Walmart and got a piercing kit and did it myself.  The big problem was you need to leave the stud in for a couple of months.  So I stayed home for a day or two and then when I had to go out I would take them out and put them back in when I returned.  It worked and they finally opened up.  It was a bit of a problem at first as when I did want to wear earrings I would struggle to get them in.  After time it all worked out where I can now wear the earrings when ever I want or not.  So when I am out in Drab, I don’t and no one really notices the small holes in my ear lobes.

    • #122211

I so want to get my pierced but my job won’t allow me. Maybe when I retire in, hopefully, a couple years

    • #122360

Hi Chloe, whether you do it you self, or have someone do it for you the problem I found was I had to wear the studs for a month or so to keep the holes open.  I did several things to deal with this issue.  Some time when going out, I would remove them, and when it was safe put them back in.  I experimented with skin tone nail polish and would paint the end of the stud in hopes it wouldn’t be notice.  It did work for me and now I can wear regular earrings when I want.  Normally when out in drab I take them off and all is fine.  Hope this helps.  You will like it once you get through the initial stage.

      Hi Chloe,
I had mine done a couple of months ago.
I had wanted to for some time, ‘finally just did it’.

Here in oz, there are specialist piercing salons, but also most hairdressers and chemists (drug stores) will do it as well – they even usually have a selection of earrings, either studs or sleepers and a trained piercer as well.
That is what I did. Got both done at the same time, stainless studs. I was going to get very small ones, but the piercer was worried they might pull through, so ended up getting medium studs.

Daughter (28) didn’t like them to start with. Wife didn’t care one way or the other. I got a few comments from extended family, but they have gotten used to it.
(I am older now – I tend not to care as much what other people think. Close family matters but also if it’s important to you they hopefully are supportive. I’m more thinking to myself that I’m 60ish, I have  a finite time left to live life on my terms, so I think people, including family, should extend the same courtesy I try to give others, do what you want as long as it doesn’t adversely affect others).

I am at the moment wearing very small sleepers – 8mm which are hardly noticeable.
So my suggestion is just go for it, get them done. Those that matter hopefully will be supportive (as I am sure you are for them). Outsiders who comment probably don’t matter – what business is it of theirs anyway.
      Go for it!

      Hi girls.

I have pierced my own ears a number of times for the occasion and let them close up inbetween. About two or three months ago I decided to make it permanent. My wife however doesn’t want to see me with ear rings, so I wear studs or rings in bed at night and at work but not at home when she is around.

      Marianne.

      Chloe,

I recently solved that problem as I wanted to wear hoop earrings but i not want to pierce my ears.  In searching clip on earrings on Amazon,  I came on a product that is a clip on earring adapter that allows you to put pierced earring types.  I bought  some to try it out, and it works well.  The package I bought was half gold types and the other half of the package was for silver types.  The clip-on adapters hold firmly.  I am now able to wear any earring type with these adaptors     Cost is very friendly too!   MissouriLila

I’ve been thinking about it for a long time and for the same reasons. Clips are good but just not the same or with the huge array of traditional ear rings. It is definitely on my next year list and I can’t wait 🤗 I am also thanks to the great changes in society getting to the who cares what people think point in my life 😂😂

    • #128827

So funny story about this.. I’ve considered piercing mine and my fiancé wants me to so bad. So yesterday I went out and put my clip hoops on. They must have gotten stretched out somehow because the one fell off my ear. I decided to adjust them a little and try again. Perfect! They stay! A little more uncomfortable than it’s ever been but whatever.

Went to take them off at night and realized why it was a little uncomfortable. I made them too tight. The stud was half way into my ear lol. Part of me wanted to just get it over with and push it the rest of the way but thought better of it and just removed them instead.

I’m definitely going for piercings. I’d like lobes, cartilage and nose for sure

There seems to be a lot of interest in this thread!

I have my ears and nipples pierced. I currently have sleepers in my ears – but I change them around quite frequently – every few days to a week. I find I like chunky ‘mens’ ones for everyday mode – I like feeling a little weight to know they are there.

Nipples, just have barbells in, and it will be that way for at least another month or two to let them heal over. Getting your nipples pierced makes them (for me anyway) much more sensitive and also larger.

Only the wife knows about the nips, but re ears, no-one now even mentions it – though they do look. (So what).

For jewellery – visit Crazy Factory, they are in Switzerland, but very good prices and range.

      • #268415

Much as i love being Py,My man side loves the gym , my nips would be exposed to all ! NOT.But no probs with my ears , and hopeing to have a third attempt at my belly button soon. The other 2 have migrated. Py x.

Update 2. For any of you lovely people who care!
Nearly a year and a half now since I had my ears skewered. I can wholeheartedly confirm that I have no regrets and can’t believe I procrastinated about it for so long.
my favourite earrings  are my simple silver hoops. They’re about the same diameter as the top of a pringles tube. I’d wear them all the time if I could.

In short. Do it. No-one who matters cares, and those who care, don’t matter!

      Hi Chloe,

Your original post was beck before I found CDH; I wish the topic had had more discussion.
After some thought, I had mine pierced just before Christmas, and I’m happy I did. Most people either simply don’t notice, don’t care, or are two shy to mention it…even family. Earrings are now something my wife and I shop together for, and share.

I am thinking about getting my ears pieced also but one stone for my dad and one for my mom in which passed away in 2013, this would be something to keep them with me all the time wearing the birth stone, I even mentioned it to my wife one day but never went any further.  I will bring it up again one year that I would like for xmas is my ear pierced with my mom and dads birth stone, then when I dress up I can wear the long ear rings my wife don’t like to wear. I wear clip on ear rings and do not have a lot of them need to get more

    • #268298

I did my left ear after I got out of the military in 2001. Had to remove it for work in 2010, just this past summer I found that the left ear was still pierced and did my right one myself. Now I wear what ever earrings I want when I go out.

Cloe I did a few years ago but it was not popular with my misunderstanding wife so I guess I let them close. Funny you mentioned this topic at this time because I am again considering again seriously. I just dread the altercation with her. It does help that one of my sons just had his done. There are some many types of earnings out there that I would like to wear.  Go for it! Lol Sandy.

My update:  I finally got them pierced!!  whoo hoo

Jan 1st, 2020 at Claire’s….So happy that finally after all these years..

It was almost a non event as I was fully ready to do this.

It was the most natural progression for me.

Like carrying a purse milestone I passed.. it is a big deal because it completes me – so to speak.

Chloe,  I have two gold (real) captive bead rings in each earlobe, an industrial and both nipples pierced.  Love them all.  These are permanent 24/7.  When enfemme, I take out the rings and replace with something more appropriate to my outfit.  And I love big dangly earrings.

      Have fun,

I had my left ear pierced about 13 years ago, before I came out as a CD, just because I fancied a piercing. As a guy I generally wear a silver hoop in it, all he time, an o-one really comments on it; a man with a piercing isn’t a big deal.

However I always resisted getting the other ear done, because I personally felt uncomfortable as a guy looking like that. No logical reason – I just did. So as Rachel I always wore clip-ons, and to be fair I have a pretty nice collection of them. However in the past year or so I found that clip-ons were becoming really painful to wear. I mean they always started to hurt a bit after several hours, but I was finding that ones I’d worn for years were now pinching badly after an hour or so. I had to stop wearing them.

But I love ear-rings. So just before Christmas I got my other ear pierced, and in the new year it had healed up enough that I could start wearing proper ear-rings. And, oh my, what have I been missing all these years!

As a guy I still wear my hoop on the left, and a very small stuff on the right. And I’m a different person now to the guy who had that left ear pierced back in 2007 – I’m more confident in my identity and happy to flaunt two piercings 😀

I had mine done at Claire’s just before Christmas, and the instructions were to keep them in place for 3 weeks. There is also a cleansing procedure which is supposed to be done 3 times daily, with a cleaning solution they provide.

No big deal. I did my ears, I don’t know, 20 years ago?

I needed a piercing parlor to reopen them, because they shrunk over the year. Now the wholes are back and I am happy to wear my hoops whenever I can.

Reading through this thread, I am glad you did it finally.

Some good stores have “pierced look” earrings that use springs for hoops and magnets for studs. They really work and look better. The constant pressure on your lobes is good and bad. Good because it is a constant reminder that you are femmed up. Good, because they are easily removed in emergencies, but bad in that your lobes need a break from the pressure after a couple of hours. With the spring action fake hoops you can hang other adornments.

    • #271423

On the high street I think it’s done free at “Clare’s “. I didn’t read any further but can honestly say in my case magnetic ones lasted just about 60 seconds and lost the back. Clips ons next a then piecing. Other half says my ears are fat so that’s that.

    • #128522

Hi Bobbi, No pain go for it , The only one i could get for a boy was a ban the bomb in black and white. So i had it done ! he had no idea i had pretty one’s at home  . I am going to have it done again before Christmas . I take the same piercing in with me and just ask him to refit ,it it’s only half price . about £25 ‘s .But my god does it take my feminine  side  away to another level. Good luck.

    • #267967

Yeh next level achieved, but due to a shitty 2019 for both my wife and i, and hospitalisation for both , the nurses had a scream. My god you have a piercing in your belly button, it must be removed for the op , but i will replace it soon and put a pic up when the boss is feeling well enough.
