Hi Girls! A little while ago I mentioned this movie was coming on TV. It received a 68 % on Rotten Tomatoes, whatever that means. Basically, it a film in Denmark featureing a man and wife who are artists. She is into figure portraits of ballerinas and he is into nature paintings. She is having trouble painting the lower legs of a ballerina until she notices his legs…and well…you can see where this is going. He is a very thin and effeminate looking man. She puts him a a pair of ballerina tights and slippers….and then….well, he is hooked on cross dressing. He desires to become a female while his wife doesn’t mind. All goes well until he decides he wants to transgender. We travel with him to various doctors and psyche sessions and then they decide to go ahead with it. It takes place in 1920 in I assume Denmark. My grump is that the people just do not look like those from that time period. I won’t say more unless I ruin the picture for you. I give it a half-thumbs up.
Lady Veronica Graunwolf (Really not an Arts/Media critic but I do enjoy a good movie for what it is.

The title of the movie is The Danish Girl and it loosely relates to the true story of the first attempted sex change. The Danish artist Einar Wegener transitions ino his female alter ego Lili Elbe. The first operation was successful but a later attempt to transplant the reproductive organs of a woman was doomed to fail.
