The Samantha Review – Star Trek Discovery, Season 3

Since the end of October, my Saturday morning breakfast has consisted of copious amounts coffee, my favourite granola, all washed down with my weekly fix of Star Trek Discovery.

Following straight on from the end of season 2 and the popularity of Captain Pike, I felt season 3 would be a tough act to follow. Consider me won over.

While we have had the “fish out of water” characters in the past to have an entire crew and starship in the same situation, has provided us with an opportunity to see what the Star Trek universe is like in the 32nd century.

For anyone who has not watched the latest season, I will not give anything anyway but the writers have been given a blank slate to create the future with no real boundaries. Overall, I found the season to be its best yet, if for nothing else for the odd winks and nods to past characters.

By my reckoning season 4 will be delayed owning to events but the possibilities for me seem endless, hopefully with no Netflix cancellations!
