      Hi All

So after a bit of a hiatus, the Samantha Review is back!

Yesterday afternoon I went to see Tenet, which is really the biggest release since lock down. Should anyone ask, I am not counting Trolls World Tour as a big release!

Before I go into the review, it was nice to see my local cinema back open, with all their new safety protocols in place and working well. One upside of the time we went to see Tenet was that we were the only people in the screen!

      So, onto the review….

Christopher Nolan has done it again, like with Interstellar, he is making the audience watch, listen and learn carefully to what is going on and in the case of Tenet, literally which way the story plays out.

John David Washington is excellent as the lead character. Whilst he stumbles to fully grasp the larger wold he is part of, once understood, the film lets itself unfold, where anything could happen. This I found to be an excellent touch, making the audience follow the story even more carefully.

Special mention does go to both Kenneth Branagh, playing a proper movie villain, complete with passable Russian accent and Robert Pattinson, who I have never really rated but excels as our main characters’ guide to what Tenet is all about.

This truly is a global film, darting from one country/location to the other and is very well shot throughout. Thankfully there are no horrible on screen reminders as to which city we are in. Did remind me to visit Sorrento though!

Whist I could go more into the plot itself, I do not want to give anything anyway, especially being the first big release since March. One thing I can virtually guarantee, you may be going back for a second viewing.

As always, please let me know your thoughts on Tenet.

      It’s a solid 9/10 from Samantha!

Oh dear, fortunately I was able to sleep for most of it, SFX were good but made me dizzy, if there was a plot it completely passed me by.

      Sorry 2/10….Sally x

        Hey Sally

        Hope you are well.

Thank you for your reply. Like Interstellar, Tenet was one of those films that required more than one watch, typical Nolan being let loose with a passion project!

        New Year Hugs

I agree with you on Christopher Nolan. His films are always very interesting, but if your goal is to see a movie and let it wash over you without paying attention, then don’t go to see his movies  🙂

I’ve, personally, liked most of them from him.

Thanks for the review Samantha!!  Did you see it en femme? Just curious. That would be fun to do. I hadn’t thought of that yet since I haven’t been to a movie (or even thought about GOING to a movie since last December!)  🙂

          *kisses* tara 🙂
