I have been to our local Perkins Restaurant a few times. I usually do not encounter the same hostess or server.  Yesterday I went there for breakfast, and as I entered, the hostess greeted me with, “Hi. It’s been a while.”  We chatted as we waited for the server to take me to a table, discussing her recent injury and how she was limited to how much time she can be on her feet – she was catching with me like she would any female aquaintance.  When the server (Cheryl) came she said, “Good to see you again.” I was made to feel welcomed and feel that I belong.  Now, you might call this Good Customer Service. I call it acceptance – a validation of Julie being Out and About.  I will DEFINITELY be going back soon.

Great story Julie!  Thanks for sharing that, and reminding us that there is acceptance out there!  I do get the same treatment at a local Hunny Pot store, where the girls just seem so happy seeing me walk in.  We chat about hair, nails, cute tops, lol…  I am  greeted with “Hi Stevie!!  We’re always happy to see you”.

One good experience can make sooo much difference.  Sounds like you are becoming “one of the gals” there 🙂.  Definitely a place you can be comfy being a regular – and I hope you do!!
