We know we all love female clothes.  Really?  ALL of them?  I’m not convinced.

I am not keen on anything to do with shorts/culottes/playsuits. I will not spend money on them, because they remind me too much of man shorts. Likewise anything to do with that other male icon…. trousers. I have one pair of skinny jeans for wearing if the occasion demands it.   That’s all.

But i am really interested in finding out is if there are any iconic female items you do not like or WILL NOT WEAR?  For example –  if you hate bra’s I would love to know why! If you hate skirts please explain.

Some things- like shapewear- can be restrictive or uncomfortable – but they are a key part of the female wardrobe.  Do you avoid them?   Maybe they should be exempt?  Whatever , please enlighten me!

    1. String Bikini panties
    2. caged panties
    3. Bulky Leggings,
    4. loose jeans
    5. skinny jeans with cut outs / slits
    6. Fishnet pantyhose with more than 1/8″ or 1/4″ nettin anything larger gets stuck in between toes
    7. “Thigh Hi Stockings with “Stay Up” tops that refuse to stay up after a few wearings.
    8. Tops, blouses worn with bottoms edges outside of skirt and jean waistband,  to me looks trashy.  Yesterday afternoon in a  shopping center parking lot I saw a rather extra large busted and seriously overweight 20ish gal wearing  pair of CUTOFF jeans bend over to pick up her dropped car keys, by time she bent over enough to pick up keys back bottom of top was halfway up her back

Any panties that cover more than hip huggers or bikinis are not my style or preference.  Definitely not a fan of culottes or most shorts for that matter. I LOVE dresses, but alas, most don’t fit me properly. I have broad shoulders and slim hips. Tough to fit that frame. I stick with cute tops and most any length skirt.

Try a Turtle blouse or tight bodysuit with a skirt, I love them ie. Bodysuits except when I shopping 4 new tops especially iF bodysuit has to be pulled over head , particularly If I have recently had my hair professionally styled with “GIRLLY CURLS”

More or less any women’s items I could wear in boring mode and have nobody notice at all, I probably won’t like much.

One exception is unisex shoes. I’ve mentioned my current obsession with skater skirts a bunch of times now. I love to wear them with heels, but my everyday converse all stars work nicely as well. Probably because the skirts and pantyhose I always wear with them provide enough feminine feeling on their own to be satisfying to me.

I usually only wear a female item, if there is a male counterpart to it.  However, I wear my clothes all the time… So it is a different situation for me.

I love anything short. Short shorts, mini skirts, rompers, female sports clothing is great. the Nike Dryfit stuff is amazing.  Ultra short nylon running shorts and a tank top are my daily favs.

I don’t like anything long or heavy. The number one dislike foe me is stockings, hose, socks.

I am shocked, yes shocked, by the girls here who do not like hose!  No really, I get it. You have fabulous legs and don’t need them anyway. Me? Well, they’re an integral part of any wardrobe.

To the question: flat shoes, bulky dresses, and Capri pants.

I’m not a fan of really baggy dresses…the ones that look like a cover-up for a day at the beach.  They seem to be everywhere now!  Yes, they are comfortable, but they just don’t look very flattering.  That and pantsuits.  So 1970’s, so JC Penney’s.  So not Tina!

There are also a lot of clothes that I like but don’t look good on me.  Either its shape and mine mismatch, or it’s just too young for me, or something.  I suppose that’s a common lament of girls everywhere, so no complaints.

As for hosiery, I love it in the winter, because it keeps my legs warm on chill nights, and it does look good on me.  In the summer, I don’t bother…too hot!

Steph!  You’ve outdone yourself once again!  yay!  Wow what a superb question!  Thought-provoking too.  Therein, my first inclination (without any real thought?), is that I HATE ‘shapewear’ because I am not in need of it.  I’m 5ft 6, 130.4 (all muscle yet it’s not visible in the least unless I ‘pump’).  If you don’t know me well, I am a ‘tranny’ and so my skin is more that of a ladies skin, meaning that I have that tiny layer of fat that makes my skin ‘gurl soft/gurl warm’.  And, shapewear WILL trouble your insides to varying degrees (for each person).  I was posing with a corset, rather snug, and it broke my “free” rib just bend over about a foot.  SKA-REW THAT!  hahahah….  You don’t want to compress your abdomen either.  Panels in ‘high’ leggings with panels (even duals) are just fine, but NO more than that for pressure.  They only ‘smooth you out’ and no compression to speak of.  I know of three models who have given up a few feet of their large colons due to a love of all manner of foolishly tight ‘thingies’.  Best to just drop a few lbs, than look to anything of that nature (except for “the look” and NOT tight in the least).  Works for me and looks like they are tight to a camera.  (Hateful little creatures …cameras)!  🙂  Aimee…

You are right about shapewear of course. I do occasionally wear some when vanity takes over. And there are some dresses which do not look good if your middle is larger than your hips!  One can “suck it in” when posing in front of a mirror or camera, but can’t hold it for long.   Then you catch sight of yourself as belly passes across the mirror at the same time as your breasts. There are probably some of us who like the pregnant look!  So I understand why some ciswomen and transgenders encase themselves in body armour.   As part of my feminisation I have been dieting and have lost half a stone – much of this is visceral fat.  And voila! It works!  I can wear my favourite dresses now and there is only the slightest hint of a baby bump. So the shapewear remains in the closet – except for the padded booty pants now and then, and the basque for when I’m feeling sexy.  Funny thing about cameras- not real ones, I mean those awful phone ones. Mine seems to zero in on any bumps and lumps that I swear do not show in mirrors.

I use to feel the same way.  When I dressed I wanted dresses, skirts, heels and ballet flats.  I wanted to be as girly as I possibly could.  I have been sending many photos to on line stylists and they suggests slack and jeans with my blouses    It’s amazing how feminine I feel, even in a pair of skinned jeans.   I’m torn but a girl has options and I love them all.

Okay I must add tights/panty hose to my list. Anything apart from lingerie, that is a single piece that both legs have to go into. Too trouser like.

And I will have nun of any religious style clothing – it might be habit forming.

    And minimiser bra’s. What?

A large, baggy, tent-like dress…originating (I think) in tropical climate areas…usually bright colored – but unflattering on anyone who wears them (IMHO)…

Sweaters- they are so frumpy. When you have all these undergarments on to accentuate the curves your striving for, just to cover it up with a square, bulky pile of wool…what a waste!

Another is midi dresses, unless they Are tight spandex with a pencil skirt.

I would Love to get a  Feminine spandex tight fitting bike suit with a tight fitting long legs and long sleeve but every where I’ve been wont let u try on b4 you buy , I bought on online it was very much one piece with back zipper from middle back with a turtleneck but even though I got the 1x size it was 2 short torso wise.

Holdups, a mini skirt or, better, a short skater dress……… and going commando!  Or so I have been told. I can’t possibly comment.

Love stockings whether hold-ups or worn with suspender belt or open bottom girdle. Not keen on tights! Gillian.
