Hiya Girls.

In case you did not notice, Fatima Abrams loves long hair on girls; nothing says ‘Girl’ like shoulder length long hair does.

I have over 60 wigs now, excessive? Not for me, but I do have favorites amongst them; mainly shoulder length and blonde.

I have learned things about being a girl with long hair and one of them is to have to get used to sometimes “eating” strands of hair as it will often end up in my face. I also use some wigs to cover my bad eye, which adds to the overall appearance.

Visit Transgender Heaven

Watch the video of Arcade Fire’s “We Exist”. The cross dresser in it plonks his wig on but never combs it and it looks bad; doing this is a mistake because wigs need special attention. I always comb a wig out before I put it on and regularly use a wig conditioner. This lets the strands easily slip by one another for a nice flowing hair piece; you can find wig conditioner on Amazon and other outlets. I have brought back some wigs that were badly tangled at the ends, with lots of careful combing and conditioner. Don’t neglect this conditioning step if you want nice hair; and who doesn’t?

When I go to an establishment to meet the other girls in our club, I usually take off my coat then head for the wash-room with my purse, no, not for THAT reason, but to comb my hair out. It looks so much nicer, neatly combed and cascading out over my shoulders. Mmm, scrumptious.

I’ve been shopping online again, which for me is a common occurrence, I find it helps keep my mind off dangerous events. I have some favorite websites I visit often (and they often ‘visit’ me to remind me to get shopping), where the selections are bountiful and the prices pretty low.

It is very easy to get hooked on shopping for girl-stuff, especially nice blouses and dresses. One can easily get carried away; I know I do, I already have too much girl-stuff. Sometimes you run into a huge snag: I look at an item—as I did this morning—and rapidly fall in love. It was a lovely, print, summery dress that I so wanted to get and almost sold out apart from the only size left, which was Small. Sheesh. Have you ever seen a grown woman cry over that infamous phrase “Sold Out”? I almost did. But of course, grown men do not cry, do they? It’s the antithesis of masculinity if it happens. I don’t cry, not very often anyway, so I pushed on. More nice items but that special one keeps popping up in my memory. It’s not fair. To paraphrase Gary Lewis and the Playboys: ‘Just my style, everything about it drives me wild’.

This cross-dressing thing can certainly blossom, just like a young girl blossoms into fully-fledged womanhood in all her wonder. (Swoon). We look at an attractive woman and project ourselves into her space and become her. For an instant. Hmm. I was writing to somebody else that we take Fatima or_____ out of her little box, where she resides much of the time, and she blossoms forth, sometimes amazingly so.

You know that feeling you get in front of the mirror? I had it two days ago when I tried on a new, flowered and pink, summer dress. Oh, marvellous. I’ll wear that on our next night out.

One thing is certain, you will order lots of clothes and whittle them down until you have some amazingly good-looking items that will form your core wardrobe. The rest you can take to the club swap-meet or donate for somebody else to get that amazing feeling, maybe.

Hair: Check. Clothes: Check. Now, if I could just get my makeup right….

It is amazing that a wig can really finish the look off. There have been so many times that I have got all dressed up, hated how everything looked then put my “go to" hair on & completely changed my mind about the look. I do have a few different lengths / styles & colours (nowhere near 60 though) but shoulder length & blonde is by far my favourite. You are right though, it does need constant fettling to keep it looking right but no one said looking good was easy.

Hi Fatima! Thank you for this article. This past week my wife showed me some wooden combs she is giving out as gifts. She says a wooden comb will help redistribute natural oils from where there is an excess to where there is a need, but plastic combs don’t. You mentioned using conditioner on the wigs, I wonder if a wooden comb would help disperse the conditioner more evenly. I watched the Arcade Fire video, but with the sound off as not to disturb/alert my wife. It was lovely until the shoving started. I will watch it again with sound… Read more »

I have the shopping problem also, Bras, Denim skirts & short shorts (the shorts  i wear in summer) Stockings, Tights, Thighhighs, don’t get me started on panties. The email keep popping up. A curse is that I found  Poshmark & The Tight Spot, how can you resist pattern tights or making a low offer on that Red Bra. Which I am wearing with red panties and faux black Spanx legging.

60 wigs OMG thank you I feel so much better now. lol I thought 6 was alot !! Do you find a big difference with Wig conditioner vs normal conditioner? I have both human and synthetic wigs so maybe the wig conditioner works better on synthetic? Thank you for the post. Have a great day RC

I completely understand the importance of hair.   When I wore a wig for the first time, I felt t completely transformed my look and it was the first time I started to see “her". Someday, I hope to grow my hair out to the length of my wigs and get the feminine hairstyle I so badly want!  I’ve started a couple of time but never got past that awkward middle stage….maybe someday soon.

For those of us less fortunate and less hirsute on top the wig is indeed the crowning glory. They do take a bit of care and I even have a hairdresser that cuts in a wig to my style and has given me some valuable tips on care.
Shopping is forever challenging as there are too many things we fall in love with. Endless pruning fails and the core of my wardrobe is like a reactor at critical point, ready to burst.

I lve my long blonde wig too.  I enjoyed your posting, because you are so right in that if you have long hair, you most definitely do end up eating some of it.  I also found that it likes to stick itself to lipstick and worse yet, get in the way of longer false eyelashes.  But, I’m exactly like you, I am so happy that I have had some of the same experiences as GGs with longer hair and it certainly helps me to understand why they love their hair bands and pony tails too.   Seems to me that… Read more »

Sheesh. Have you ever seen a grown woman cry over that infamous phrase “Sold Out"? I almost did. But of course, grown men do not cry, do they? It’s the antithesis of masculinity if it happens. I don’t cry, not very often anyway, so I pushed on. I didn’t push on once. I fought til the end. When I used to shop at Zara (they have an ethics issue now), I bought one of my first and favorite pair of linen pants in a local store. I thought that I would be able to find the matching jacket as well.… Read more »

I’ve always been a naturalist with my body and looks. I’m blessed no body hair, sorta curvy , cute face smallish. Now at 57 Its the first time I tried wigs. Hair is thinning. I found out you really need the right one or modify the wig.
Nobody has that thick of hair…lol. I’m still new to trying wigs but there is a certain approach I’m learning still about wigs . Works or don’t 50. 50
Give it to a girl it Might work with. Well that what I’ve done.
