Heather Kirk replied to the topic Trans women are women, but are trans women female? in the forum General Chat "Life as it Goes On" 2 years ago
Hi Rach,
I am glad I made you think about this more deeply. When I posted this question, I was wrestling with the question myself. Since then I did more research and I found a blog post by a trans woman that wrestled with this very same question. At the end of her post she had a simple little paragraph that answered it for me. So, while I ini…[Read more]

I can agree with you that it is just opinions. Because really that is all we really have to go upon. As far as science, just because they say this makes a male and this makes a female doesn’t mean it is right. A lot of therapists still consider being transgender the wrong way. As far as your statement, no womb = man. what of a woman that is b…[Read more]

Hi Cassie,
Thank you for replying. I understand what you mean. It makes my head hurt and I am suffering a large amount of dysphoria over it. As I stated it kept me awake all night trying to reconcile this. I can certainly agree with you that some trans women are female and some aren’t. I am starting to formulate in my head that like “tr…[Read more]

Trigger Warning: I post this because it has triggered me. If this might upset you, it might be best to skip this post.
I came across an article last week that said that while trans women are women, they are not female. I was stunned when I read this. I have always thought of myself as female and a woman. I always felt they sort of go hand…[Read more]

For me, it is definitely not a hobby. It is my gender identity. I was born in the wrong body.

I agree with Elaine, you need to talk to HR and your supervisor before you start coming out at work. I would additionally look at your company policies towards this. It might offer some guidelines and maybe some insight on how inclusive your work is going to be.
I worked for a small consulting company where one of the employees came out as a t…[Read more]

I went with piercings. I tried the clip-on and they hurt too much. for some reason getting my ears pierced I never cared about what people thought. I now have multiple piercings in my ears. You have to do what you’re comfortable with. I have had the piercings for so long now I forget about them and have gone to several interviews for jobs…[Read more]

I too have never liked fish. I remember my dad taking me fishing as a kid and he would make me scale and gut the fish. I felt like throwing up every time. Then my parents would be mad at me for not eating the fish at dinner.
Maybe that is why I am a vegan today. I cannot stand meat at all. I get sick smelling any meat cooking anymore.
Heather Kirk replied to the topic Six Pack Tummy, Anyone? in the forum General Chat "Life as it Goes On" 2 years ago
Hi Barb,
As a fitness trainer, I have to tell you that crunches won’t give you six-pack abs. Crunches only work the upper part of your abdomen. They are also not the best exercise for the abs.
First off, those fad diets never work long-term. Yes, I know that people lose weight on the keto diet and all but the problem is, that as soon as yo…[Read more]
Heather Kirk replied to the topic What is your favourite James Bond. in the forum Crossdresser Heaven Polls 2 years ago
For me it will always be Sean Connery. He had the charm and sophistication to really pull off James Bond. So far there has not been a Bond that comes even close. My second choice would be Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan . They both have their strengths playing Bond. My only problem with the Roger Moore movies was the last several he played. They…[Read more]

Heather Kirk replied to the topic Would you date a man en femme? in the forum General Chat "Life as it Goes On" 2 years ago
Hi,
For me first, off I am married to a wonderful woman that I love and fully supports me being my true self. So I am not really going to be dating anyone. My wife would not like that.
Taking that out of the conversation, I have found that generally speaking I do not like men at all. A lot of men that I have met have been pretty immature or…[Read more]

I came out of the closet finally earlier this year as a trans woman. I have been dressing in women’s clothing full-time since 2014. The biggest difference for me now is that my clothing style has taken a more feminine look to them. I have been working to feminize my voice and I am struggling with that. It is a lot harder for me than I tho…[Read more]
