Yesterday I went shopping at Macy’s to buy a dress. As promised, here is a photo of the dress I bought. And I love it! It’s a nicely feminine dress, but a different look for me. Longer than my other dresses, perfect for wearing boots. I don’t have anything else in this color. And it’s a floral design, yet they’re almost like polka.dots. But the best thing about this dress is its size — large. Every other dress I own is an extra-large, and I’ve always wondered if a large would fit me. Now I know — it fits great, looks wonderful. But oh, did I have fun yesterday! Shopping en femme for dresses, trying them on. Probably more fun than anything I’ve done in my crossdressing adventures. Ladies, shopping rules! And it’s funny — all my life my male self has always hated shopping. I could never see the appeal. I thought it was boring. I couldn’t understand why women enjoyed it so much. What an idiot I was!!

Even as a boy, I thought girl’s clothing was more interesting than boy’s clothing. I dabbled with crossdressing in my early 20’s trying on my sisters’ clothes — but didn’t take it very far because very little fit me. Eventually my attention turned to my career — getting my degree and teaching at a university. So my crossdressing laid dormant for decades. But the itch never totally went away. When I retired, I realized that the time was right to try my hand at crossdressing again. Except this time I got serious. The internet provided me with women’s apparel that actually fit me — and delivered it to my front door. YouTube taught me how to apply makeup and other tricks to feminize my appearance. And I had the time and freedom to experiment. The result is that I was able to create Angela, a woman whose beauty and femininity exceeded my wildest expectations. I’m sorry if that sounds vain, but I’ll never forget the first time I saw her in the mirror, fully realized, staring back at me. What a rush! If only my 20-something self could see me now! I joined Crossdresser Heaven about three months after I got back into crossdressing, and it changed my life. The support and love I feel from this community has given me the confidence and courage to take my crossdressing to the next level. I have now begun to go out in public as Angela — something that I honestly thought I would never do when I began my crossdressing journey. So what’s next? Going shopping with my CDH friends, a professional makeover, and a convention or two. Stay tuned.

Lovely feminine dress, Angela. You appear to be channeling JackieBoy with the dressing room selfie. And to your comment: no, you were not an idiot, you were just a typical guy with no interest in shopping. Funny how that changes from the female perspective, eh?

Angela, I totally agree, shopping for dresses while dressed en femme is a ton of fun, which is why I do it way to often. I’m running out of room in a nice sized walk-in closet. I am also one of those who hated to shop as my male self. It’s so cool when shopping becomes centered around trying to make yourself look pretty or sexy versus the drudgery it used to be. At times it actually become something to look forward to. Enjoy!

I see a lot of price tags on the floor. Gosh, I deplore messy dressing rooms

You look great in that dress. And you went shopping en femme for femme clothes? That is awesome. The first time I did it, I was very nervous, but the thrill was incredible. To experience that thrill again and again, I began doing it more and more and got bolder and bolder. The bolder I got, the greater the thrill was.

Going out in public en femme and going shopping, I think is a couple of the greatest thrill and experiences a crossdresser can have. Glad you seem to be experiencing that.
