Today is National Wear a Dress Day. And I decided that on this special occasion, I was going to do more than just wear a dress. I was going to shop for one. But not online. In person. At Macy’s. As Angela! I’ve never done this before but always wanted to. Bucket list! Of course, today of all days, I had to wear a dress. And I decided to wear the dress from my “Simply Beautiful “ photo from May 25. Janice and Carol both commented that it was a nice outfit for shopping, so I decided to take their recommendation and wear it. As you can see from this photo, I think they gave me excellent advice. And I must say, I discovered something I didn’t expect as I browsed through the women’s department. It’s HUGE! A labyrinth of women’s apparel and accessories. I could spend all day there. And I’m not kidding — I even got lost for a while. So with literally hundreds of dresses to choose from, did I actually buy one? Of course! And I’ll show it to you in tomorrow’s photo.

Even as a boy, I thought girl’s clothing was more interesting than boy’s clothing. I dabbled with crossdressing in my early 20’s trying on my sisters’ clothes — but didn’t take it very far because very little fit me. Eventually my attention turned to my career — getting my degree and teaching at a university. So my crossdressing laid dormant for decades. But the itch never totally went away. When I retired, I realized that the time was right to try my hand at crossdressing again. Except this time I got serious. The internet provided me with women’s apparel that actually fit me — and delivered it to my front door. YouTube taught me how to apply makeup and other tricks to feminize my appearance. And I had the time and freedom to experiment. The result is that I was able to create Angela, a woman whose beauty and femininity exceeded my wildest expectations. I’m sorry if that sounds vain, but I’ll never forget the first time I saw her in the mirror, fully realized, staring back at me. What a rush! If only my 20-something self could see me now! I joined Crossdresser Heaven about three months after I got back into crossdressing, and it changed my life. The support and love I feel from this community has given me the confidence and courage to take my crossdressing to the next level. I now go out in public as Angela — something that I honestly thought I would never do when I began my crossdressing journey. So what’s next? Going shopping with my CDH friends, a professional makeover, and a convention or two. Stay tuned.

You look wonderful and I think perfect for the occasion. How exhilarating you must have felt Angela. Be careful in Macy’s for that is one of my most favorite stores. The one near me has a last chance section and you can find $200 dresses for as cheap as $35. Then upstairs is there backstage OMG. Tops for like $4, dresses, cardigans, shorts. I cannot go in there for I have so many clothes. There and another store Boscov’s. I can’t help myself. Angela I think you made the right choice and you can scratch it off your bucket list.… Read more »
