Hi Ashleigh. While you do look very nice in your pic, passing is much more than looking good. So you do have a great starting point, but passing, whoever may tell you that you do by looking at only one pic, while encouraging, may be doing you (or anybody else in a similar situation) a disservice.
You seem to have a nice facial bone structure, so much that even with very little or no makeup in your pic, with the long hair, your overall look is feminine, and like I said, that is a great start!
Gaby
Hi Gabirela , thanks so much for commenting and providing support. I do completely understand what you mean , I don’t know what I need to finally go out and be myself but I seem to look for comfort in others telling me that I can – just on the basis of looks alone ‘pass’ so to speak. I do however understand that I’m going to need to put that aside and be confident but it is so difficult.
Ashleigh, I can totally understand that! Been there, and got support from others to help me get to the point where I was confident enough to take that step. Only one really important thing to consider, if you allow me. Aiming for passing, nothing wrong with that, but if you aim to be accepted instead, that may be much rewarding. Being out and passing is mind blowing and exciting, but you are basically building a character in many ways. And you can only tell very few times if you are really passing or not. But being accepted is even better!… Read more »
You look terrific, confidence comes from doing it once and then repeating. A friend of mine Heidi Phox once told me. If someone recognizes that your a man in a dress, well that’s because you are. Just put on the best show you can. Your first time out dress causally leggings and a sweater and boots. GO to an Ulta and get a makeover. The makeover will also give you more confidence as you will look amazing and feel amazing and it also is a delight to sit in the chair and feel of the powders and other products they… Read more »
Thank you so much Jackie, I’m just worried that I will be looked at in such a judgemental sense. I’ve been trying for months now to get it In to my head that only my opinion of it matters but of course I endeavor to do my best and look ‘passable’. Thanks for sharing your experience with getting a makeover, I would love for that to happen to help build confidence. I often practice makeup with my partner and have slowly been learning. I dress quite casually so I hope that I can pull the trigger and go out. The… Read more »
I have 10 wigs or so and not one as far as I know is human hair. The wig you have on looks fine. Checkout Heidi Phox’s web site. I learned so much from her over the years

Thank you!!! I’ll have a look 🙂
Heidi is fabulous
Ashleigh,
The ladies here are sharing some great information with you.
You have an excellent start, youthful looks, a pretty face, nice hair color, etc.
IMHO, rather than concentrating on “passing,” work on the basics, make up,
attractive outfits, hair style & color, body language, etc.
Cross dressing is an art, and I consider myself a continual work-in-progress,
always learning something new and improving on what I know and am doing
already.
You are in the right place. The CDH ladies are tops, the best!
Hugs,
Peggy Sue
Hi Peggy , thank you so much for the compliments it helps massively. You are 100 percent right, I definitely need to stop focusing so much on passing and ensure I get the rest of it sorted properly first. It’s just so easy to fixate on it since by default you deem that as success but so much more is important, such as being yourself and being happy that you’ve had the opportunity to dress up and be pretty. Thanks again 🙂
The ladies have indeed provided you with some excellent advice. I personally can not stress enough that confidence is the key. There is nothing more attractive than a person with inner self confidence of who they are.
Everyone really has it’s been fabulous, confidence is the hardest thing to achieve but as said above , doing again makes it easier. I’m just so worried that I will get multiple looks despite acting confidently but all the compliments you lovely ladies have shared have really helped.
Thanks so much .
Hi Ashleigh it’s Scarlett, and yes, with the proper application of some makeup and some red nail polish you could pull off the passabilty check with no problem at all!
XOXOXO Scarlett
Thanks so much Scarlett , really appreciate the advice and comment 🙂 Helps a lot.
Hi Ashleigh, As a newbie I can’t really offer any advice. You are way ahead of me and I’ve forced myself out twice recently. I agree with everything that all of the other people here have said and I am grateful for their advice. Always grateful to these amazing ladies. I think if I could have heard advice like that growing up I would be a more complete person and I don’t just mean as it relates to dressing. Thank you all. One thing I have found in life is that 9 out 10 people don’t/won’t/can’t? look others in the… Read more »
Oh no , Kim its absolutely wonderful that you have gone out twice. I’m still building the courage to do so, its admirable that you and the other lovelies on here have done so already. Thank you so much for your lovely comments as well , really helps to push me that one step closer to going out. I do seem to notice a common theme of most people not caring in the slightest in regards to looking so that does help me somewhat 🙂
Thanks a bunch Kim 🙂
